In the last couple of years I have been wondering where we are and where are we going. We have seen some tough times and some glorious times. In my 59 years of life we have had financial recessions but we have always managed some way to get through them without massive government intrusions and interventions. But now our government controls vast portions of our banking, automotive industries and now the health care industry, what's left for them to grab ? In less than 2 years time our (funny, I don't think I can say "Our" government anymore.) The Government has assumed so much control and strives for more.

Now the government wants to control the internet, the single most important tool ever devised to foster the idea of freedom and liberty will fall under government control. A man that can not communicate freely will never be free. Yes, with this fantastic tool of freedom comes the trash of pornography and it can also be used by the enemies of freedom to communicate with each other, a small price to pay to allow one free man communicate his thoughts and ideas to another. This more than anything frightens me, as all tyrants first had to control the flow of information before they could take control.

Now they say that this country is in danger of cyber warfare, and I whole hardily agree with this, however to simply shut the internet down does no more to "protect" us than a dastardly attack. Critical computer systems should not even be allowed to connect to the internet if they are that vulnerable. And if they must communicate with other systems then how will shutting down the internet "save" them. This is nothing more than a means to stop you and me from sharing ideas and information.

The government can shut down a few thousand tv and radio stations, close several thousand newspapers, but right now it can not shutdown potentially millions of work stations that can disseminate information, until they pass this new law......

Remember Our Founders, Give Thanks to Our Heroes

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

With these words, written by Thomas Jefferson, our Founding Fathers clearly and unequivocally announced to the world those ideals that would become the foundation of democracy in the United States. They declared that Americans would no longer be subject to the tyranny of the Divine Right of Kings. These American patriots were not fighting for land or for wealth but, rather, for liberty and justice for all people.

On July 4, 1776, the United States was just thirteen colonies of the British Empire. Today, we are the mightiest nation in the world and still leading the fight for freedom, justice, and democracy for all. We remain united under the principles enshrined in the Declaration of Independence.

This weekend, we all will celebrate the 4th of July. The 4th is a day to reflect on what it means to be an American. It is also a day to give thanks. It reminds us of the brave men and women who have sacrificed so much throughout our history while fighting for the rights laid out in the Declaration of Independence. From Lexington and Concord, to the beaches of Normandy, from the deserts of Iraq to the mountains of Afghanistan, heroic Americans have laid down their lives so that you and I may continue to live in the land of the free and the home of the brave.

On Sunday or Monday, as your fire up the grill, I hope you will join with me in remembering the sacrifice and courage of those great Americans who have shown us over the last 234 years what it means to be free. Take a moment to remember all Americans who have taken a stand against the dual evils of tyranny and oppression- from those 56 men who signed their names and declared the independence of all free Americans to our men and women in uniform today. These men and women are the reason that Americans enjoy the liberties and freedoms we celebrate each 4th of July.

Not Terrorism But A "Provocative Action"

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obama administration said Monday that the sinking of a South Korean warship blamed on North Korea was not terrorism, and not enough by itself to put Pyongyang back on a U.S. terror blacklist.

The State Department said the March sinking of the South Korean frigate Cheonan by a reported torpedo from a North Korean submarine was a "provocative action" and a violation of the truce that ended the Korean war.

But it added that the sinking was the act of one state's military against another and not an act of terrorism. Thus, it is not grounds to put North Korea back on the U.S. "state sponsors of terrorism" list as some in South Korea had wanted, spokesman P.J. Crowley said.

The North had been on the terror list but was removed in 2008 amid progress in the now-stalled effort to get it to abandon nuclear weapons.

The sinking "was a provocative action but one taken by the military of a state against the military of another state," Crowley told reporters. "That in our view does not constitute and act of international terrorism." (In the real world this is called an Act Of War)

However, he stressed that the administration was continually reviewing North Korean behavior to determine if other factors would lead to its redesignation as a state sponsor of terrorism. (Um.... what about nuclear proliferation and threats)

"We will not hesitate to take action if we have information that North Korea has repeatedly provided support for acts of terrorism," Crowley said.

An international investigation concluded last month that North Korea torpedoed the vessel near the tense Korean sea border, killing 46 South Korean sailors. North Korea flatly denies the allegation and has warned any punishment would trigger war.

Earlier Monday, North Korea threatened to bolster its nuclear capability in a new — though unspecified — way to cope with what it says is a hostile U.S. policy and military threats amid tensions over the sinking.

In other words they are testing a new delivery system for their nuclear bombs.

McChrystal Resigns!!

Gen. Stanley McChrystal has submitted his resignation over the remarks in the Rolling Stone Interview from which I have cut some of the juicier bits.

Now, flipping through printout cards of his speech in Paris, McChrystal wonders aloud what Biden question he might get today, and how he should respond. "I never know what's going to pop out until I'm up there, that's the problem," he says. Then, unable to help themselves, he and his staff imagine the general dismissing the vice president with a good one-liner.

"Are you asking about Vice President Biden?" McChrystal says with a laugh. "Who's that?"

"Biden?" suggests a top adviser. "Did you say: Bite Me?"

Ok now we know the most derogatory thing said about Biden was by an aid to the General, not the General himself.

According to sources familiar with the meeting, McChrystal thought Obama looked "uncomfortable and intimidated" by the roomful of military brass. Their first one-on-one meeting took place in the Oval Office four months later, after McChrystal got the Afghanistan job, and it didn't go much better. "It was a 10-minute photo op," says an adviser to McChrystal. "Obama clearly didn't know anything about him, who he was. Here's the guy who's going to run his fucking war, but he didn't seem very engaged. The Boss was pretty disappointed."

Again another statement made by an aid.

But part of the problem is personal: In private, Team McChrystal likes to talk shit about many of Obama's top people on the diplomatic side. One aide calls Jim Jones, a retired four-star general and veteran of the Cold War, a "clown" who remains "stuck in 1985." Politicians like McCain and Kerry, says another aide, "turn up, have a meeting with Karzai, criticize him at the airport press conference, then get back for the Sunday talk shows. Frankly, it's not very helpful." Only Hillary Clinton receives good reviews from McChrystal's inner circle. "Hillary had Stan's back during the strategic review," says an adviser. "She said, 'If Stan wants it, give him what he needs.' "

Again another statement made by an aid.

McChrystal reserves special skepticism for Holbrooke, the official in charge of reintegrating the Taliban. "The Boss says he's like a wounded animal," says a member of the general's team. "Holbrooke keeps hearing rumors that he's going to get fired, so that makes him dangerous. He's a brilliant guy, but he just comes in, pulls on a lever, whatever he can grasp onto. But this is COIN, and you can't just have someone yanking on shit."

Again another statement made by an aid.

At one point on his trip to Paris, McChrystal checks his BlackBerry. "Oh, not another e-mail from Holbrooke," he groans. "I don't even want to open it." He clicks on the message and reads the salutation out loud, then stuffs the BlackBerry back in his pocket, not bothering to conceal his annoyance.

"Make sure you don't get any of that on your leg," an aide jokes, referring to the e-mail

The relationship was further strained in January, when a classified cable that Eikenberry wrote was leaked to The New York Times. The cable was as scathing as it was prescient. The ambassador offered a brutal critique of McChrystal's strategy, dismissed President Hamid Karzai as "not an adequate strategic partner," and cast doubt on whether the counterinsurgency plan would be "sufficient" to deal with Al Qaeda. "We will become more deeply engaged here with no way to extricate ourselves," Eikenberry warned, "short of allowing the country to descend again into lawlessness and chaos."

McChrystal and his team were blindsided by the cable. "I like Karl, I've known him for years, but they'd never said anything like that to us before," says McChrystal, who adds that he felt "betrayed" by the leak. "Here's one that covers his flank for the history books. Now if we fail, they can say, 'I told you so.' "

Ok this Is the General speaking now.

I am not a huge fan of McChrystal his ROE is not going to win a war.

Degeneration of Democracy

When Adolf Hitler was building up the Nazi movement in the 1920s, leading up to his taking power in the 1930s, he deliberately sought to activate people who did not normally pay much attention to politics. Such people were a valuable addition to his political base, since they were particularly susceptible to Hitler's rhetoric and had far less basis for questioning his assumptions or his conclusions.

"Useful idiots" was the term supposedly coined by V.I. Lenin to describe similarly unthinking supporters of his dictatorship in the Soviet Union.

Put differently, a democracy needs informed citizens if it is to thrive, or ultimately even survive. In our times, American democracy is being dismantled, piece by piece, before our very eyes by the current administration in Washington, and few people seem to be concerned about it.

The president's poll numbers are going down because increasing numbers of people disagree with particular policies of his, but the damage being done to the fundamental structure of this nation goes far beyond particular counterproductive policies.

Just where in the Constitution of the United States does it say that a president has the authority to extract vast sums of money from a private enterprise and distribute it as he sees fit to whomever he deems worthy of compensation? Nowhere.

And yet that is precisely what is happening with a $20 billion fund to be provided by BP to compensate people harmed by their oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Many among the public and in the media may think that the issue is simply whether BP's oil spill has damaged many people, who ought to be compensated. But our government is supposed to be "a government of laws and not of men." If our laws and our institutions determine that BP ought to pay $20 billion-- or $50 billion or $100 billion-- then so be it.

But the Constitution says that private property is not to be confiscated by the government without "due process of law." Technically, it has not been confiscated by Barack Obama, but that is a distinction without a difference.

With vastly expanded powers of government available at the discretion of politicians and bureaucrats, private individuals and organizations can be forced into accepting the imposition of powers that were never granted to the government by the Constitution.

If you believe that the end justifies the means, then you don't believe in Constitutional government. And, without Constitutional government, freedom cannot endure. There will always be a "crisis"-- which, as the president's chief of staff has said, cannot be allowed to "go to waste" as an opportunity to expand the government's power.

That power will of course not be confined to BP or to the particular period of crisis that gave rise to the use of that power, much less to the particular issues.

When Franklin D. Roosevelt arbitrarily took the United States off the gold standard, he cited a law passed during the First World War to prevent trading with the country's wartime enemies. But there was no war when FDR ended the gold standard's restrictions on the printing of money.

At about the same time, during the worldwide Great Depression, the German Reichstag passed a law "for the relief of the German people." That law gave Hitler dictatorial powers that were used for things going far beyond the relief of the German people-- indeed, powers that ultimately brought a rain of destruction down on the German people and on others.

If the agreement with BP was an isolated event, perhaps we might hope that it would not be a precedent. But there is nothing isolated about it.

The man appointed by President Obama to dispense BP's money as the administration sees fit, to whomever it sees fit, is only the latest in a long line of presidentially appointed "czars" controlling different parts of the economy, without even having to be confirmed by the Senate, as Cabinet members are.

Those who cannot see beyond the immediate events to the issues of arbitrary power-- versus the rule of law and the preservation of freedom-- are the "useful idiots" of our time. But useful to whom?

JERUSALEM -- Israeli commandos on Monday stormed six ships carrying hundreds of pro-Palestinian activists on an aid mission to the blockaded Gaza Strip, killing at least 10 people and wounding dozens after encountering unexpected resistance as the forces boarded the vessels.

The operation in international waters off the Gaza coast was a nightmare scenario for Israel that looked certain to further damage its international standing, strain already tense relations with Turkey and draw unwanted attention to Gaza's plight.

The two sides offered conflicting accounts of what happened.

A reporter on one of the boats said the Israelis fired at the vessel before boarding it, and the Israelis said they only opened fire after being attacked by activists with sticks, knives and live fire.

Israeli security forces were on alert across the country.

The activists were headed to Gaza on a mission meant to draw attention to a 3-year-old Israeli blockade of the coastal territory. Israel imposed the blockade after Hamas militants took power there.

"It's disgusting that they have come on board and attacked civilians. We are civilians," said Greta Berlin, a spokeswoman for the Free Gaza movement, which organized the flotilla.

Speaking from the east Mediterranean island of Cyprus, she said she had lost contact with the flotilla at about 3:30 a.m. (0030 GMT). (Ed. She is in Cyprus how in the hell does she know what went on ?)

Israel had declared it would not allow the ships to reach Gaza and had offered to transfer the aid to Gaza from an Israeli port. Israeli naval commandos raided the ships while they were in international waters after ordering them to stop about 80 miles (130 kilometers) from Gaza's coast, according to a pro-Palestinian activist in Greece involved in the aid mission.

A Turkish website showed video of pandemonium on board one of the ships, with activists in orange life jackets running around as some tried to help an activist apparently unconscious on the deck. The site also showed video of an Israeli helicopter flying overhead and Israeli warships nearby.

Turkey's NTV showed activists beating one Israeli soldier with sticks as he rappelled from a helicopter onto one of the boats.

The al-Jazeera satellite channel reported by telephone from the Turkish ship leading the flotilla that Israeli navy forces fired at the ship and boarded it, wounding the captain.

"These savages are killing people here, please help," a Turkish television reporter said.

The broadcast ended with a voice shouting in Hebrew, "Everybody shut up!"

The Israeli military said troops only opened fire after encountering unexpected resistance from the activists. Activists attacked troops with knives and iron rods, and one activist wrested a serviceman's weapon.

A total of four soldiers were wounded, including at least one hit by live fire, the army said. Two of the dead activists had fired at soldiers with pistols, the army said.

"They planned this attack," said Israeli military spokeswoman Lt. Col. Avital Leibovitch. "Our soldiers were injured from these knives and sharp metal objects ... as well as from live fire."

The ships were being towed to the Israeli port of Ashdod, and the wounded were evacuated by helicopter to Israeli hospitals, officials said. Sporadic clashes were still going on at midmorning.

There were no details on the identities of the casualties, or on the conditions of some of the more prominent people on board, including 1976 Nobel Peace Prize laureate Mairead Corrigan Maguire of Northern Ireland, European legislators and Holocaust survivor Hedy Epstein, 85.

Satellite phones on board the ships were turned off, and communication with a small group of reporters embedded with the Israeli military was blocked.

The Free Gaza Movement is an international group of pro-Palestinian activists that claims the blockade, imposed three years ago after the militant Islamic Hamas group overran Gaza, is unjust and a violation of international law.

Organizers included people affiliated with the International Solidarity Movement, a pro-Palestinian group that often sends international activists into battle zones, and the IHH, a Turkish aid group that Israel accuses of having terrorist links.

News of the attack sparked violent protests in Turkey, which had unofficially supported the aid mission and has been vocally critical of Israeli military operations against Palestinians in Gaza.

Police blocked dozens of stone-throwing protesters who tried to storm the Israeli consulate in Istanbul. The CNN-Turk and NTV televisions showed dozens of angry protesters scuffling with Turkish police and shouting, "Damn Israel."

The Turkish Foreign Ministry condemned the Israeli raid and said it was summoning the Israeli ambassador for an "urgent explanation." It says Israel violated international law and will suffer consequences.

The flotilla of three cargo ships and three passenger ships carrying 10,000 tons of aid and 700 activists (Ed. that's an army) was carrying items that Israel bars from reaching Gaza, like cement and other building materials. The activists said they also were carrying hundreds of electric-powered wheelchairs, prefabricated homes and water purifiers to the territory's 1.5 million residents.

"We did not want to see confrontation," said Mark Regev, a spokesman for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who was in Ontario at the time of the raid.

"We made repeated offers to the boats that they come to the (Israeli) port of Ashdod unload the humanitarian cargo, and we guaranteed to pass all humanitarian items through the crossings to the Gaza Strip. Unfortunately, they rejected our offers and chose the path of confrontation."

The head of the Gaza Hamas government, Ismail Haniyeh, condemned the "brutal" Israeli attack.

"We call on the secretary-general of the U.N., Ban Ki-moon, to shoulder his responsibilities to protect the safety of the solidarity groups who were on board these ships and to secure their way to Gaza," Haniyeh told The Associated Press.

The violent takeover threatened to deal yet another blow to Israel's international image, already tarnished by war crimes accusations in Gaza and its three-year-old blockade of the impoverished Palestinian territory.

The flotilla began the journey from international waters off the coast of Cyprus on Sunday afternoon after two days of delays.

After nightfall Sunday, three Israeli navy missile boats left their base in Haifa, steaming out to sea to confront the ships. Two hours later, Israel Radio broadcast a recording of one of the missile boats warning the flotilla not to approach Gaza.

"If you ignore this order and enter the blockaded area, the Israeli navy will be forced to take all the necessary measures in order to enforce this blockade," the radio message continued.

This is the ninth time that the Free Gaza movement has tried to ship in humanitarian aid to Gaza since August 2008.

Israel has allowed ships through five times, but has blocked them from entering Gaza waters since a three-week military offensive against Gaza's Hamas rulers in January 2009.

The latest flotilla was the largest to date.

We all knew this was going to happen, I imagine the airwaves will burn up today with this news.

2. $2.2 Billion dollars a year is spent on food assistance programs such as food stamps, WIC, and free school lunches for illegal aliens.

3. $2.5 Billion dollars a year is spent on Medicaid for illegal aliens.

4. $12 Billion dollars a year is spent on primary and secondary school education for children here illegally and they cannot speak a word of English!

5. $17 Billion dollars a year is spent for education for the American-born children of illegal aliens, known as anchor babies.

6. $3 Million Dollars a DAY is spent to incarcerate illegal aliens.

7. 30% percent of all Federal Prison inmates are illegal aliens.

8. $90 Billion Dollars a year is spent on illegal aliens for Welfare & social services by the American taxpayers.

9. $200 Billion dollars a year in suppressed American wages are caused by the illegal aliens.

10. The illegal aliens in the United States have a crime rate that's two and a half times that of white non-illegal aliens. In particular, their children, are going to make a huge additional crime problem in the US.

11. During the year of 2005 there were 4 to 10 MILLION illegal aliens that crossed our Southern Border also, as many as 19,500 illegal aliens from Terrorist Countries.. Millions of pounds of drugs, cocaine, meth, heroin and marijuana, crossed into the US from the Southern border.

12. The National policy Institute, estimated that the total cost of mass deportation would be between $206 and $230 billion or an average cost of between $41 and $46 billion annually over a five year period.

13. In 2006 illegal aliens sent home $45 BILLION in remittances to their countries of origin.

A. Two Six year Senate terms
B. Six Two year House terms
C. One Six year Senate term and three Two Year House terms

2. No Tenure / No Pension:
A congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.

3. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security:
All funds in the Congressional retirement fund moves to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, Congress participates with the American people.

4. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan just as all Americans.

5. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

6. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.

7. Congress must equally abide in all laws they impose on the American people.

8. All contracts with past and present congressmen are void effective 1/1/11 .
The American people did not make this contract with congressmen, congressmen made all these contracts for themselves.

Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, serve your term(s), then go home and back to work.

I find it it a bit odd, the Liberal Media and the White house are connecting Right Wing Extremist Terrorism to the Tea Party Folks. I have been scrounging through the news and the internet looking for all of the horrible right wing terrorist attacks on the government or the people. The most terrible one was in 1995 by Timothy McVeigh, long before the Tea Party movement got started. But Mr. Clinton sees a direct connection between the dissatisfaction with the current trend our government is taking and the attack in Oklahoma City. But here it gets a little odd. We can not now equate Islamic Radicals with terrorism even though there is a terrorist attack somewhere in the world every day that has been perpetrated in the name of Islam. Weird Huh ?

Elsewhere in the media Joe Klein has accused Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh of sedition.

So speaking out against this Administration is Sedition and Treason. Please allow me to bring up a rant by our current Secretary of State.

Now I really hate to agree with Hillary on anything but she is correct.

In the last few days our commander in chief has decided that, in the interests of Global Security, that we would not defend ourselves against non nuclear attacks. That it would be better for millions of Americans to die at the hands of some biological or chemical agents than for us to shield ourselves with at least a nuclear retaliation. How nice if you are one of the many enemies that would love to see us destroyed. His latest move is to now remove any and all references to "islamic radicalism" from the National Security Strategy. We can now no longer say that we are fighting the jihad (it no longer exists, it is just the peaceful expansion of a benevolent religion). Our new president no longer worries about the safety or security of the United States.

Oh and here is Obama's Response to our concerns.

To paraphrase Admiral Yamamoto's lament "that all that had been accomplished was to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve"

Under policies announced by the Obama administration, a devastating chemical or biological attack on this country might merely awaken our very own Hamlet and fill him with a terrible sense of angst.

Much of that is because, with the decline of violence and leftist rebels (FARC), the economy has boomed in the last decade (from $94 billion in 2000 to $240 billion last year). The leftist rebels and drug gangs don't have as much political or military clout, and are very much on the defensive. Thus FARC has come to depend more on terrorism (bombings and kidnappings) to try and maintain some power. But this the strategy of someone on the decline, and only increases popular hatred of the leftist groups.

The huge number of FARC and drug gang documents (mainly electronic) captured in the last few years has exposed an extensive foreign support network (Read as Venezuela. - Ed.) for the leftist rebels and their drug gang allies. Most of these foreigners appear to be political activists who were attracted to FARC's use of violence to support a leftist revolution. This often led to helping FARC raise money and buy weapons and equipment. The government is trying to build criminal cases against their foreigners, and get local authorities to prosecute. The host nations are often reluctant to do this, because local leftist politicians block prosecution efforts.

Now lately things have been going half way decent for Columbia, but our commander in chief (spit) wants to curtail arms to Columbia while their neighbor feeds into FARC and gets billions in arms from Russia.
Just waiting for the pretense that Hugo will use for "Liberating" the poor Colombians.

At the same time that Obama is giving away our nuclear weapons and changing the overall nuclear posture of our defense. By avowing to never nuke a country that does not have nukes, (it's ok to use bio or chemical agents against us now). Hugo and Putin meet for deals for Russia to build them a nuclear power plant and a space launch capabilities. What could go wrong here ? Again we have another (being real nice here)... "questionable" state that is awash in oil that "needs" nuclear power generation.

CARACAS, Venezuela – Russia has agreed to help Venezuela draw up plans for a nuclear power plant, President Hugo Chavez said Friday.

Atomic energy was one of many areas of cooperation discussed as Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin made his first visit to the South American country.

"We're ready to start drawing up the first plan of a nuclear power plant, obviously with peaceful aims," Chavez said.

Chavez had announced plans to turn to Russia for nuclear help in the past. He did not give details on how much Venezuela is prepared to invest, or how long it might take.

Russia and Venezuela also launched a joint business to tap vast oil deposits in eastern Venezuela, and Chavez said Moscow has offered to help Venezuela set up its own space industry including a satellite launch site. (While PINO shuts down our Space Industry.)

Putin also pledged to keep selling arms to Venezuela. Chavez's government has already bought more than $4 billion in Russian weapons since 2005, including helicopters, fighter jets and 100,000 Kalashnikov rifles.

"We will continue supporting and developing Venezuela's defense capabilities," said Putin, who headed back to Moscow after the one-day visit.

He noted Russia has agreed to lend Venezuela up to $2.2 billion for additional arms deals and said Venezuela has yet to use any of those funds. Chavez said the two governments were discussing new arms deals but did not give details.

Officials signed 31 agreements during Putin's visit to deepen cooperation in areas from air transport to agriculture. Russia is sending more than 2,000 Lada cars to Venezuela, Chavez said. Putin said there are plans to eventually assemble the cars in Venezuela.

Chavez has grown increasingly close to Russia, Iran and China while fiercely criticizing U.S. policies, and his calls for countering U.S. influence to create a "multi-polar world" have found resonance in Moscow.

"Our objective is to make the world more democratic, make it balanced and multi-polar," Putin said. "The cooperation between Russia and Venezuela in this context has special importance."

Anti-Racist Action

On April 15th thousands of right-wingers will attend rallies in cities and towns across the United States. The organizers of this nationwide day of protest call it a tea party. This tea party movement that emerged only a year ago is a coalition of conservatives, anti-Semites, fascists, libertarians, racists, constitutionalists, militia men, gun freaks, homophobes, Ron Paul supporters, Alex Jones conspiracy types and American flag wavers.

(Note: how the anarchists try to make some of my highlighted items to be as evil as the baseless accusations.))

If the tea party movement continues to grow in size and strength there is a big chance they will dominate this country in the near future. (One can hope) If the tea party movement takes over this country they will really hurt poor people by getting rid of social programs like food stamps, unemployment benefits, disability benefits, student aid, free health care, etc.

(Now this is the bizarre part, to wit: an anarchist is for no government, now if there were no government where in the hell would these "entitlements" come from ?)

The tea party movement will say these programs must be gotten rid of because hard-working taxpayers cannot afford to pay for these things especially when the economy is in a depression. There are three options we have with the tea party movement:

1. Organize counter-protests against the tea party demonstrations, same time, same place. This is probably the best option. We need to get in the streets on April 15th and show the tea party movement that there are lots of people out there who oppose their agenda.

2. Get individual tea party protesters to leave the right-wing and move to the left politically. That would involve passing out stuff like this at the tea party demonstrations: http://www.anarchist-studies.org/node/299

3. Ignore the tea party movement. This is the worst option because without anyone opposing them they could easily gain power.

In the interview yesterday, President (In name Only) Obama stated that he was more concerned about families having to decide between their mortgage or health insurance. Well this Bill will fix that in no uncertain terms. Families will not be allowed to make that choice, as they will be FORCED to pay for their health insurance. So that means that their mortgage or rent is now what they have to cut in order to prevent being fined or sent to jail. That is really going to help any middle class family that may be left in a few years. And I am still confused as to why the Financial Aid to students had to be included in a health care bill. Oh and the new medicare tax will now be applied to all income, ie: investments, rents, sales of property, etc. And now with the vote in the House to accept the Slaughter Rule, completely undermines the Constitution.

WASHINGTON -- "We have an agreement until 2012 that Russia will be responsible for this," says Anatoly Perminov, head of the Russian space agency, about ferrying astronauts from other countries into low-Earth orbit. "But after that? Excuse me, but the prices should be absolutely different then!"

The Russians may be new at capitalism but they know how it works. When you have a monopoly, you charge monopoly prices. Within months, Russia will have a monopoly on rides into space.

By the end of this year, there will be no shuttle, no U.S. manned space program, no way for us to get into space. We're not talking about Mars or the moon here. We're talking about low-Earth orbit, which the U.S. has dominated for nearly half a century and from which it is now retiring with nary a whimper.

Our absence from low-Earth orbit was meant to last a few years, the interval between the retirement of the fatally fragile space shuttle and its replacement with the Constellation program (Ares booster, Orion capsule, Altair lunar lander) to take astronauts more cheaply and safely back to space.

But the Obama 2011 budget kills Constellation. Instead, we shall have nothing. For the first time since John Glenn flew in 1962, the U.S. will have no access of its own for humans into space -- and no prospect of getting there in the foreseeable future.

Of course, the administration presents the abdication as a great leap forward: Launching humans will now be turned over to the private sector, while NASA's efforts will be directed toward landing on Mars.

This is nonsense. It would be swell for private companies to take over launching astronauts. But they cannot do it. It's too expensive. It's too experimental. And the safety standards for actually getting people up and down reliably are just unreachably high.

Sure, decades from now there will be a robust private space-travel industry. But that is a long time. In the interim, space will be owned by Russia and then China. The president waxes seriously nationalist at the thought of China or India surpassing us in speculative "clean energy." Yet he is quite prepared to gratuitously give up our spectacular lead in human space exploration.

As for Mars, more nonsense. Mars is just too far away. And how do you get there without the stepping stones of Ares and Orion? If we can't afford an Ares rocket to get us into orbit and to the moon, how long will it take to develop a revolutionary new propulsion system that will take us not a quarter-million miles but 35 million miles?

To say nothing of the effects of long-term weightlessness, of long-term cosmic ray exposure, and of the intolerable risk to astronaut safety involved in any Mars trip -- six months of contingencies versus three days for a moon trip.

Of course, the whole Mars project as substitute for the moon is simply a ruse. It's like the classic bait-and-switch for high-tech military spending: Kill the doable in the name of some distant sophisticated alternative, which either never gets developed or is simply killed later in the name of yet another, even more sophisticated alternative of the further future. A classic example is the B-1 bomber, which was canceled in the 1970s in favor of the over-the-horizon B-2 stealth bomber, which was then killed in the 1990s after a production run of only 21 (instead of 132) in the name of post-Cold War obsolescence.

Moreover, there is the question of seriousness. When John F. Kennedy pledged to go to the moon, he meant it. He had an intense personal commitment to the enterprise. He delivered speeches remembered to this day. He dedicated astronomical sums to make it happen.

At the peak of the Apollo program, NASA was consuming almost 4 percent of the federal budget, which in terms of the 2011 budget is about $150 billion. Today the manned space program will die for want of $3 billion a year -- 1/300th of last year's stimulus package with its endless make-work projects that will leave not a trace on the national consciousness.

As for President Obama's commitment to beyond-lunar space: Has he given a single speech, devoted an iota of political capital to it?

Obama's NASA budget perfectly captures the difference in spirit between Kennedy's liberalism and Obama's. Kennedy's was an expansive, bold, outward-looking summons. Obama's is a constricted inward-looking call to retreat.

Fifty years ago, Kennedy opened the New Frontier. Obama has just shut it.

U.S. GDP Grew By 5.7% In The 4th Quarter

The U.S. Department of Commerce released its preliminary 4th Quarter GDP calculation today. It looks pretty good. GDP grew by a whopping 5.7% annualized pace during the quarter, the fastest growth the U.S. has seen since 2003. That's the second quarter of positive income growth, and significantly better than the 3rd quarter's 2.2% growth.

let's look at the parts now:

Private Consumption: A lot of us are un-employed, the rest are scared Private Consumption is way down.

Gross Investment: After the bath that investors took in the last 18 months, investmenst are way down.

Government Spending: (I'll get back to this portion)

(Exports - Imports): Well our Trade Balance is usually a negative here in the GDP equation so there isn't much change here.

So it looks like the only portion of the GDP Pie that is growing is the Government Spending !! None of the "Good" parts of the GDP are growing. isn't this just swell ???

So Please folks, don't look at this "Growth in the GDP" as a good sign... it sure as hell aint!

The Man Who Gave Away The Moon!

Robert Heinlein years ago wrote a very interesting story called "The Man Who Sold The Moon", based on a man who went around to corporations and "sold" the concept of going to the moon. Well Obama, just gave the moon to the Russians and/or the Chinese. For 60 years this country has been the planet's explorers of space, with the stroke of a budget pen, this president has given that job to the Chinese. He complains often about the bad corporations that outsource jobs overseas, he has just done that with the future of space exploration.

This decision is the worst decision that Pino has made, because in another of Bob Heinlein's books. "The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress" comes the message "He who controls the Moon, OWNS the Earth!"

Lets examine just a few of the problems with this decision:

New rocket technology will now be developed by folks who don't have particularly good will towards us.

Ever since the First World War, it was recognized that control of the skies meant control of the battlefield. The same falls true on the control of space. Treaties or not Space will be weaponized, only now, for sure, it won't be us.

The small investments that we have made for space exploration have generated an enormous amount of spin off technology and vast amounts of money in new products and materials.

We have been relegated to the roll of passenger now in space, what has happened to that exploration gene that got us this Nation ?

And finally the Greatest Dream of Mankind that was started by John F. Kennedy was killed for children of all ages by Barrack H. Obama.

Of all the asinine things this Pino has done, this one upsets me the most, as my only hope for the future of Mankind was for America to lead the way into Space, for if Mankind does not expand into Space, then we are just as dead as the damned dinosaurs.

Deal Reached On Taxing 'Cadillac' Plans

The White House has reached a deal with health care negotiators, including labor unions, on taxing the high-level "Cadillac" plans that workers with high-risk jobs often purchase. The excise tax on high-cost insurance plans has been one of the biggest sticking points in the negotiations, as President Obama has favored the Senate plan which calls for the tax, while House Democrats preferred raising taxes on high-income earners.

A senior Democratic official speaking on background told Fox News that the threshold for exemption would be raised from $23,000 to $24,000 per family but would remain the same at $8,500 for singles with high-value plans. Dental and vision plans would be removed from that calculation, however.

State and local workers and union members are exempted until 2017.

A Democratic source with close union contacts said labor leaders are not particularly happy with the tentative deal, but are much less angry than they were at the previous plan.

The new plan was not accompanied by an explanation to how much revenue would be generated by the new figures.

The value of the plans that are taxed would be indexed to the consumer price index plus 1 percent, meaning over time more and more people would be affected by the threshold than would be if the tax had been indexed to health care inflation. Health care spending in 2008, the last year for which the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has data, rose at a historically low rate of 4.4. percent. Inflation was at 6 percent in 2007.

The White House did not comment on the deal on Thursday, with White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs saying only that on Wednesday the president and Democratic members of Congress "made a tremendous amount of progress in bridging the differences that existed between the two pieces of legislation that have passed the House and the Senate."

"We may have more later in the day," Gibbs said.

The deal must be vetted with rank-and-file members but the agreement would appear to be a major win for Senate Democrats.

WASHINGTON -- Foreign countries including Saudi Arabia and Norway gave millions of dollars to former President Bill Clinton's charity, at a time when Hillary Rodham Clinton was serving her first year as secretary of state. (Remember during the confirmation hearings when she said this wouldn't be a problem. - Ed)

Other donors ranged from entertainer Barbra Streisand's foundation to bailout beneficiary American International Group.

A donor list released on New Year's Day by the William J. Clinton Foundation shows that Saudi Arabia and Norway each donated $10 million to $25 million to the former president's charity in 2009. The biggest donors included the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which gave more than $25 million.

The Clintons agreed to annually disclose the names of donors to the former president's foundation to address concerns about potential conflicts of interest between his fundraising abroad and his wife's role in helping to direct Obama administration foreign policy.

"I am deeply grateful to the many generous contributors who made it possible for my foundation to accomplish so much in 2009, including increasing the number of people on lifesaving HIV/AIDS treatment, helping cities reduce their greenhouse gas emissions, and inspiring millions of children to lead healthier lives," Bill Clinton said in a written statement.

"If a project doesn't support our troops, we will not fund it," he said to a meeting of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Phoenix. "If a system doesn't perform, we will terminate it. And if Congress sends me a defense bill loaded with that kind of pork, I will veto it. "

Just last week, Obama broke his promise as he signed into law the 2010 Defense Appropriations Bill -- a $636 billion behemoth loaded with $4.2 billion of pork.

"We should be concerned that we're getting ripped off," said Ryan Alexander, president of the watchdog group Taxpayers for Common Sense.

"The earmarking process is the beginning of figuring out whether or not we're getting ripped off. Absolutely dollars are being directed, not based on the best decision making process."

In all, Congress added in 1,720 pet projects, including:

∙$18 million for the Edward Kennedy Policy Institute in Massachusetts

Lawmakers also added $5 billion for two destroyers, 10 C-17 cargo planes and to develop a jet engine the Pentagon neither wants nor needs. Critics call it classic pork -- projects that may save jobs, but not money.

"There is a reason they are added to the Defense appropriations bill, because everyone in Congress knows this is a must-pass piece of legislation", said Todd Harrison, a budget studies fellow at the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments.

Despite the billions in pork, the White House says it's making progress. The earmarking total is 14 percent lower than it was on last year's defense bill, and the Obama administration says federal agencies found more than $19 billion in contract savings for 2010. The president has also succeeded in killing funding for the pricy F-22 Joint Strike Fighter and a new presidential helicopter.

Members of Congress are also defending their earmarks. Senator John Kerry, D-Mass., who added the Ted Kennedy Institute to the defense budget, says it is a tribute to the late Senator's leadership on military technology and safety for our troops.

Senator Mary Landrieu, D-La., says she was "proud" to secure $20 million for a new wing of the National World War II museum in her home state.

But a study by the Center of Defense Information says earmarks like those in this bill -- including those for the solar film, prostate cancer research, and the New York sprinkler system -- mean less money for pilot training, supplies, repairs and ammunition.

Harrison is especially disappointed Congress cut $300 million from a successful counterinsurgency program used by Army field commanders.

"That money is used by commanders on ground in Iraq and Afghanistan to fund small projects that help win over the local population," he said.

The way this thing has been pushed and "sold" I don't have to many doubts about it's passage. All we can do now is pray that this damned thing can be repealed in 2011 when the new Congress meets. But now that the Senate has cleared the deck for Obama, Pino and family jet off to Hawaii for a "well deserved" Holiday vacation (I would say Christmas, but I don't think it means much to Pino.

Why is President Barack Obama in such a hurry to get his socialized medicine bill passed?

Because he and his cunning circle realize some basic truths:

The American people in their unimaginable kindness and trust voted for a pig in a poke in 2008.

They wanted so much to believe Barack Obama was somehow better and different from other ultra-leftists that they simply took him on faith.

They ignored his anti-white writings in his books.

They ignored his quiet acceptance of hysterical anti-American diatribes by his minister, Jeremiah Wright.

They ignored his refusal to explain years at a time of his life as a student.

They ignored his ultra-left record as a "community organizer," Illinois state legislator, and Senator.

The American people ignored his total zero of an academic record as a student and teacher, his complete lack of scholarship when he was being touted as a scholar.

Why were we duped, you ask? Because it is in the character and personality of an ego-centered Narcissist to be believed. They accept no contrary opinions. They have a 100% conviction in their own opinion and beliefs. They typically are well spoken and have a certain amount of charisma. They are adept at twisting and spinning any thought into their own mold.

He rallied much of the non-Caucasian and youth vote. Why? Because he preached change. This element of voters either feel they needed change, or in the case of the young voters, they didn’t have enough experience to fully understand “change from and to what” but the charisma and rhetoric sold this “load of poles”.

Now, the American people are starting to wake up to the truth. Barack Obama is a super likeable super leftist, not a fan of this country, way, way too cozy with the terrorist leaders in the Middle East , way beyond naïveté, all the way into active destruction of our interests and our allies and our future.

The American people have already awakened to the truth that the stimulus bill -- a great idea in theory -- was really an immense bribe to Democrat interest groups, and in no way an effort to help all Americans.

Now, Americans are waking up to the truth that ObamaCare basically means that every time you are sick or injured, you will have a clerk from the Department of Motor Vehicles telling your doctor what he can and cannot do.

The American people already know that Mr. Obama's plan to lower health costs while expanding coverage and bureaucracy is a myth, a promise of something that never was and never will be -- a bureaucracy lowering costs in a free society. Either the costs go up or the free society goes away..

These are perilous times. Mrs. Hillary Clinton, our Secretary of State, has given Iran the go-ahead to have nuclear weapons, an unqualified betrayal of the nation. Now, we face a devastating loss of freedom at home in health care. It will be joined by controls on our lives to "protect us" from global warming, itself largely a fraud if believed to be caused by man.

Mr. Obama knows Americans are getting wise and will stop him if he delays at all in taking away our freedoms. There is his urgency and our opportunity. Once freedom is lost, America is lost. Wake up, beloved America .

Message to Copenhagen: Our Constitution Begins, "We the People..."

Tomorrow morning, the delegates at the UN climate change conference in Copenhagen will awaken to avery simple but powerful message:

"In America, We Have a Constitution. It Begins: We the People..."

These are the opening lines of a message to the American delegates in Copenhagen and the rest of the world sent on behalf of the American people by American Solutions. They are meant as a reminder to both Obama Administration officials and international climate activists that under our constitutional system, the American people, not government bureaucrats, are sovereign.

Ronald Reagan was right when he said that America is a nation that has a government - not the other way around.

The reference guide being handed out by one of the non-governmental organizations at Copenhagen to keep track of all the proposals to reduce emissions from deforestation and degradation. It's purposefully modeled after the Chinese mass murderer Mao Tse-Tung's "Little Red Book of Communism."

Can the profoundly undemocratic nature of this conference be any clearer?

Congress Has the Power to Protect the Constitution. It Should Use It.

American Solutions' message to the Obama Administration and the Copenhagen delegates is this:

President Obama cannot bind the American people to job killing international agreements on climate change without the advice and consent of the United States Senate.

Similarly, he can't bypass the peoples' representatives in Congress by having the EPA pursue the same goals through bureaucratic totalitarianism.

This message to the President is also a message to Congress. Should the Obama Administration act unilaterally and subvert the Constitution, the American people will rightfully rise up in opposition.

Congress has the power to protect its constitutional role and protect the people's voice in how we're governed. It should use it. (Congress is ignoring the Constitution in this Health Care fiasco, do we really think they will stand up for us in this? - Ed.)

Substituting the Advice and Consent of the Senate with the
Bureaucratic Power of the EPA

When he travels to Copenhagen this week, President Obama is reportedly going to pledge to reduce U.S. greenhouse gas emissions by 17 percent by 2020.

The Obama Administration's various threats to act unilaterally - both in Copenhagen and at home via the EPA - to achieve this goal occur against the backdrop of this inescapable fact: The Senate, reflecting the will of the American people, refuses to pass the administration's job killing cap and trade legislation.

The result is that the administration is preparing to bypass the Senate with its announcement last week that the EPA will regulate carbon dioxide as a dangerous pollutant. (NOTE: This attack on the economy came on December 7th)

Knowing that it lacks the votes in the Senate to ratify any binding commitment made in Copenhagen to radically lower emissions, the administration may well attempt to use the EPA's newly asserted power - thus bypassing Senate ratification - to implement the agreement.

This would be a breathtakingly anti-democratic and unconstitutional arrogation of power on the part of the President. But it is exactly what some groups are pressuring the President to do. See this report, "Yes He Can: President Obama's Power to Make an International Climate Commitment Without Waiting for Congress" by the Center for Biological Diversity Climate Law Institute.

And Congressman Ed Markey (D-Mass.), the co-author of the energy tax in the House of Representatives, stated this past weekend on "Fox News Sunday", in response to Chris Wallace's question about whether President Obama could make a binding commitment at Copenhagen, that "without question, the President does have the authority to make a commitment based upon the endangerment finding - that is the authority the EPA will have."

Such action would be a corruption of America's constitutional system that the Congress must reverse.

Does Senator Webb Believe the Authority of the EPA Can Substitute for the Authority of the Senate?

Some senators seem to get this. On "Fox News Sunday" last weekend Senator Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) stated flatly that the President doesn't have the power to make binding emissions reductions commitments at Copenhagen.

And Virginia Democratic Senator Jim Webb recently wrote an open letter to President Obama in which he warned the President not to make binding commitments at Copenhagen.

"As you well know from your time in the Senate," wrote Webb, "only specific legislation agreed upon in the Congress, or a treaty ratified by the Senate, could actually create such a commitment on behalf of our country."

But Senator Webb wrote his letter before the EPA unilaterally declared the government's right to regulate carbon dioxide.

And so the question must be asked of Senator Webb: Does he believe that the authority of the EPA can substitute for the constitutional authority of the Senate - authority that he has so courageously defended?

Radical Environmentalism Is "The New Socialism"

Columnist Charles Krauthammer calls the shake down occurring in Copenhagen and the EPA's domestic power grab "the new socialism."

Following the death of the old socialism with the Soviet empire, writes Krauthammer, "the cultural elites went straight from the memorial service for socialism to the altar of the environment. The objective is the same: highly centralized power given to the best and the brightest, the new class of experts and technocrats. This time, however, the alleged justification is saving the planet."

And if the question is, "Will the new socialism succeed?" the answer is, "Not if the American people have anything to do with it."

The American People, United, Will Never Be Defeated

Last year, the "drill here, drill now" movement succeeded in removing both the executive and legislative bans on drilling offshore to capture American energy [www.americansolutions.com/drill].

We cannot wait until the 2010 elections to redirect our elected representatives from the wrong track to the right track.

With President Obama’s job approval rating bouncing between about 50 percent and 47 percent— among the lowest numbers Gallup has recorded for a president at this point in his term -- it’s time to put political activism on your list of holiday resolutions because the American economy and America’s future are depending on you.

Various polls show that most citizens are concerned that President Obama and his allies in Congress are trying to do too much, too fast, to flip control of our economy and our personal choices from the private sector to the public sector.

The stimulus and troubled asset relief programs, health care, cap-and-trade, climate change and the president’s mixed message about a troop surge in Afghanistan, coupled with an ambiguous withdrawal deadline from the country, are all creating uncertainty about the future impact on our economic and national security. Americans are anxious about unemployment, our huge debt and deficit, mind-boggling government spending, potentially crushing new taxation and regulations, and whether the war in Afghanistan might turn into a quagmire.

With Congress’s job approval rating at a dismal 26 percent, according to Gallup, leadership must come from the bottom up -- from We the People -- to redirect elected officials from the wrong track to the right track.

Consider whether it is in the best interests of America’s future to accept or reject the following transformations inherent in what Obama describes as “change we can believe in:”

-From a nation of investors to a nation of debtors.
-From a free market economy to a government-run economy.
-From a value system that prizes personal independence to a political system that fosters personal dependency.
-From a society where wealth accumulation, job creation and innovation are aspirations, to a society where wealth redistribution, high unemployment and stagnation are expectations.
-From a country confident that it is worthy of emulation to a country apologetic about its actions, beliefs and systems.
-From a military power that punches hard in the fight for freedom to a military that is sometimes commanded to pull its punches in the war against terrorism.
-From a quest to achieve the correct political course at the right cost to a quest to achieve the politically correct course at any cost.
-From a competitive environment where failure is part of a course correction to a government-controlled environment where the course of failure produces bailouts, handouts, payouts and layabouts
-From a public debate that is challenging because of strongly-held views to a public debate that is stifled because only one party’s views are challenged.
-From a country that celebrates strength and competes to a country that cultivates enervation and retreats.

W. Somerset Maugham wrote, “It is a funny thing about life; if you refuse to accept anything but the best you very often get it.”

Some people believe that in practical terms we have to wait until the 2010 elections to really make a difference.

That would be a mistake. Any government programs enacted before next year’s elections will be hard (if not impossible) to reverse.

In this season of resolutions, let us resolve to speak out and organize now so that the president and Congress clearly know exactly what we will accept or reject. This includes reaching out to any wavering Democrats -- and a few Republicans -- whose votes could tip the outcome of legislation in the wrong direction.

America’s future—our prosperity, our security and our national character—is depending on you.

Shotgun preteen vs. illegal alien Home Invaders:
Butte , Montana November 5, 2007

Two illegal aliens, Ralphel Resindez, 23, and Enrico Garza, 26, probably believed they would easily overpower home-alone 11 year old Patricia Harrington after her father had left their two-story home.

It seems the two crooks never learned two things: they were in Montana and Patricia had been a clay shooting champion since she was nine.

Patricia was in her upstairs room when the two men broke through the front door of the house. She quickly ran to her father's room and grabbed his 12 gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun.

Resindez was the first to get up to the second floor only to be the first to catch a near point blank blast of buckshot from the 11-year-old's knee crouch aim.. He suffered fatal wounds to his abdomen and genitals.

When Garza ran to the foot of the stairs, he took a blast to the left shoulder and staggered out into the street where he bled to death before medical help could arrive.

It was found out later that Resindez was armed with a stolen 45 caliber handgun he took from another home invasion robbery. That victim, 50-year-old David Burin, was not so lucky. He died from stab wounds to the chest.

The United Nations climate summit hit major turbulence on Monday when developing nations walked out of key negotiations and China accused the West of trickery(Never thought I would say this but "yay China" - Ed.), as the spectre of failure loomed heavily over Copenhagen.

As campaigners warned that negotiators had five days to avert climate chaos(Oh my!!), ministers acknowledged they had to start making progress before the arrival of 120 heads of state for the summit's climax on Friday.

Sources said the developing countries walked out of working groups at the start of the second week of negotiations here, angered that the conference was weakening in support for the Kyoto Protocol, the core emissions-curbing treaty.

COPENHAGEN — The European Union says poor countries have stopped their boycott of climate change negotiations at Copenhagen and have found a solution to their dispute with rich nations.

The EU environment spokesman Andreas Carlgren says informal talks at Copenhagen resolved the impasse.

Developing countries brought the negotiations to a halt earlier Monday with their demand that rich countries offer much deeper cuts in their greenhouse gas emissions.

The move disrupted the 192-nation conference and forced the cancellation of formal working groups, delaying negotiators who are trying to resolve technical issues before the arrival of more than 110 world leaders later this week.

The developing nations were trying to shift the U.N. talks' agenda to focus on the responsibilities of the industrial countries to halt global warming.

Secret document exposes Iran’s nuclear trigger.

Confidential intelligence documents obtained by The Times show that Iran is working on testing a key final component of a nuclear bomb.

The notes, from Iran’s most sensitive military nuclear project, describe a four-year plan to test a neutron initiator, the component of a nuclear bomb that triggers an explosion. Foreign intelligence agencies date them to early 2007, four years after Iran was thought to have suspended its weapons programme.

An Asian intelligence source last week confirmed to The Times that his country also believed that weapons work was being carried out as recently as 2007 — specifically, work on a neutron initiator.

The technical document describes the use of a neutron source, uranium deuteride, which independent experts confirm has no possible civilian or military use other than in a nuclear weapon. Uranium deuteride is the material used in Pakistan’s bomb, from where Iran obtained its blueprint.

“Although Iran might claim that this work is for civil purposes, there is no civil application,” said David Albright, a physicist and president of the Institute for Science and International Security in Washington, which has analysed hundreds of pages of documents related to the Iranian programme. “This is a very strong indicator of weapons work.”

The documents have been seen by intelligence agencies from several Western countries, including Britain. A senior source at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed that they had been passed to the UN’s nuclear watchdog.(Oh? Is there a reason to pass this information along to the idiots who are supposed to be watching for this activity ? - Ed.)

A Foreign and Commonwealth Office spokeswoman said yesterday: “We do not comment on intelligence, but our concerns about Iran’s nuclear programme are clear. Obviously this document, if authentic, raises serious questions about Iran’s intentions.”

Responding to The Times’ findings, an Israeli government spokesperson said: “Israel is increasingly concerned about the state of the Iranian nuclear programme and the real intentions that may lie behind it.”

The revelation coincides with growing international concern about Iran’s nuclear programme. Tehran insists that it wants to build a civilian nuclear industry to generate power, but critics suspect that the regime is intent on diverting the technology to build an atomic bomb.

In September, Iran was forced to admit that it was constructing a secret uranium enrichment facility near the city of Qom. President Ahmadinejad then claimed that he wanted to build ten such sites. Over the weekend Manouchehr Mottaki, the Iranian Foreign Minister, said that Iran needed up to 15 nuclear power plants to meet its energy needs, despite the country’s huge oil and gas reserves.

Publication of the nuclear documents will increase pressure for tougher UN sanctions against Iran, which are due to be discussed this week. But the latest leaks in a long series of allegations against Iran will also be seized on by hawks in Israel and the US, who support a pre-emptive strike against Iranian nuclear facilities before the country can build its first warhead.

Mark Fitzpatrick, senior fellow for non-proliferation at the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London, said: “The most shattering conclusion is that, if this was an effort that began in 2007, it could be a casus belli. If Iran is working on weapons, it means there is no diplomatic solution.”

The Times had the documents, which were originally written in Farsi, translated into English and had the translation separately verified by two Farsi speakers. While much of the language is technical, it is clear that the Iranians are intent on concealing their nuclear military work behind legitimate civilian research.

The fallout could be explosive, especially in Washington, where it is likely to invite questions about President Obama’s groundbreaking outreach to Iran. The papers provide the first evidence which suggests that Iran has pursued weapons studies after 2003 and may actively be doing so today — if the four-year plan continued as envisaged.

A 2007 US National Intelligence Estimate concluded that weapons work was suspended in 2003 and officials said with “moderate confidence” that it had not resumed by mid-2007. Britain, Germany and France, however, believe that weapons work had already resumed by then.

Western intelligence sources say that by 2003 Iran had already assembled the technical know-how it needed to build a bomb, but had yet to complete the necessary testing to be sure such a device would work. Iran also lacked sufficient fissile material to fuel a bomb and still does — although it is technically capable of producing weapons-grade uranium should its leaders take the political decision to do so.

The documents detail a plan for tests to determine whether the device works — without detonating an explosion leaving traces of uranium detectable by the outside world. If such traces were found, they would be taken as irreversible evidence of Iran’s intention to become a nuclear-armed power.

Experts say that, if the 2007 date is correct, the documents are the strongest indicator yet of a continuing nuclear weapons programme in Iran. Iran has long denied a military dimension to its nuclear programme, claiming its nuclear activities are solely focused on the production of energy for civilian use.

Mr Fitzpatrick said: “Is this the smoking gun? That’s the question people should be asking. It looks like the smoking gun. This is smoking uranium.”

But our current administration will do nothing until there is a smoking hole where a city used to be. Now this information while not unexpected, is not nearly as disturbing to me as some of the comments that followed the piece in the Times.

My Take On Global Climate Change

With this "historic" meeting going on in Copenhagen, I just have to toss my two cents out there.

I am no scientist, and I believe that the climate is changing. The climate has been changing ever since there was well... climate. In the last 1 million years there have only been 60 (yes Sixty) Ice Ages... so... that would mean that there have been 61 cycles of Global Warming. To accuse man of being responsible for this one seems to me, a bit audacious. So then, the evidence is there, this is happening and in reality there isn't much we can do to hinder or speed the process up. We can perhaps mitigate some of the problems that may/will occur, but that wont be at the cost of entire economies as being proposed in Copenhagen. Such intelligent things like not build cities below sea level.

So what is this all about, why are we being told that we must give billions off the top of our economy to combat something that we can never hope to change, slow or defeat.

Obama could not go to Copenhagen with the vaunted "Cap and Trade" bill so he oozes in with an EPA ruling that states that the very air we exhale is now a dangerous pollutant and subject to harsh penalties for its production.

This whole global warming scheme now really has only one goal.

This Copenhagen Conference is about nothing other than inhibiting individual prosperity for all and the United States in particular. The best thing for greater prosperity is cheap energy, whether that is for making steel or growing crops or transportation. The Free Flow of Information Act passed through the Senate Judiciary Committee yesterday by a vote of 14-6, a measure that gives unprecedented protections to media outlets that leak classified information, like, say, the NSA’s terrorist surveillance program revealed by the New York Times or the CIA’s secret terrorist jails revealed by the Washington Post. It also for the first time places some national security decisions under the purview of a federal judge.Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.), ranking Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, again raised red flags about the so-called media shield law, warning that Democrats voted down in committee amendments specifically designed to protect our troops.

“As our troops prepare for a surge in Afghanistan, the majority blocked an amendment to protect the secrecy of troop movements and battle plans,” Sessions said. “The rejection of these and other amendments recklessly imperils the security of our citizens and our soldiers, and leaves in place a bill that is deeply and fundamentally flawed.”

“This legislation will, for the first time in the history of our country, give a federal court privilege to those involved in the criminal leaking of classified information,” Sessions warned. “It is an unprecedented measure that will further hamstring the government’s ability to keep its most vital operations confidential -- even when the lives of innocent Americans are at stake.”

Top security and intelligence experts oppose the measure, including former Attorney General Mike Mukasey, Former CIA and NSA Director General Michael Hayden, as well President Obama’s own FBI Director and Secretary of Defense.

Testing... testing...
This has been a subject of discussion amongst a few of us for a couple of weeks. The person's account below is known to three of our group, and he is NOT a whiner or complainer...

He's an ex-Navy diver, working for a government organization; he has travelled extensively world-wide. This is his account of what happened on Flight 297 on the taxiway and at the gate in Atlanta...

One week ago, I went to Ohio on business and to see my father. On Tuesday, November the 17th, I returned home. If you read the papers the 18th you may have seen a blurb where a AirTran flight was cancelled from Atlanta to Houston due to a man who refused to get off of his cell phone before takeoff. It was on Fox.

This was NOT what happened.

I was in 1st class coming home. 11 Muslim men got on the plane in full attire. 2 sat in 1st class and the rest peppered themselves throughout the plane all the way to the back. As the plane taxied to the runway the stewardesses gave the safety spiel we are all so familiar with. At that time, one of the men got on his cell and called one of his companions in the back and proceeded to talk on the phone in Arabic very loudly and very aggressively. This took the 1st stewardess out of the picture for she repeatedly told the man that cell phones were not permitted at the time. He ignored her as if she was not there.

The 2nd man who answered the phone did the same and this took out the 2nd stewardess. In the back of the plane at this time, 2 younger Muslims, one in the back, isle, and one in front of him, window, began to show footage of a porno they had taped the night before, and were very loud about it. Now….they are only permitted to do this prior to Jihad. If a Muslim man goes into a strip club, he has to view the woman via mirror with his back to her. (don’t ask me….I don’t make the rules, but I’ve studied). The 3rd stewardess informed them that they were not to have electronic devices on at this time. To which one of the men said “shut up infidel dog!” She went to take the camcorder and he began to scream in her face in Arabic. At that exact moment, all 11 of them got up and started to walk the cabin. This is where I had had enough! I got up and started to the back where I heard a voice behind me from another Texan twice my size say “I got your back.” I grabbed the man who had been on the phone by the arm and said “you WILL go sit down or you Will be thrown from this plane!” As I “led” him around me to take his seat, the fellow Texan grabbed him by the back of his neck and his waist and headed out with him. I then grabbed the 2nd man and said, “You WILL do the same!” He protested but adrenaline was flowing now and he was going to go. As I escorted him forward the plane doors open and 3 TSA agents and 4 police officers entered. Me and my new Texan friend were told to cease and desist for they had this under control. I was happy to oblige actually. There was some commotion in the back, but within moments, all 11 were escorted off the plane. They then unloaded their luggage.

We talked about the occurrence and were in disbelief that it had happen, when suddenly, the door open again and on walked all 11!! Stone faced, eyes front and robotic (the only way I can describe it). The stewardess from the back had been in tears and when she saw this, she was having NONE of it! Being that I was up front, I heard and saw the whole ordeal. She told the TSA agent there was NO WAY she was staying on the plane with these men. The agent told her they had searched them and were going to go through their luggage with a fine tooth comb and that they were allowed to proceed to Houston. The captain and co-captain came out and told the agent “we and our crew will not fly this plane!” After a word or two, the entire crew, luggage in tow, left the plane. 5 minutes later, the cabin door opened again and a whole new crew walked on.

Again…..this is where I had had enough!!! I got up and asked “What the hell is going on!?!?” I was told to take my seat. They were sorry for the delay and I would be home shortly. I said “I’m getting off this plane”. The stewardess sternly told me that she could not allow me to get off. (now I’m mad!) I said “I am a grown man who bought this ticket, who’s time is mine with a family at home and I am going through that door, or I’m going through that door with you under my arm!! But I am going through that door!!” And I heard a voice behind me say “so am I”. Then everyone behind us started to get up and say the same. Within 2 minutes, I was walking off that plane where I was met with more agents who asked me to write a statement. I had 5 hours to kill at this point so why the hell not. Due to the amount of people who got off that flight, it was cancelled. I was supposed to be in Houston at 6pm. I got here at 12:30am.

Look up the date. Flight 297 Atlanta to Houston.

If this wasn’t a dry run, I don’t know what one is. They wanted to see how TSA would handle it, how the crew would handle it, and how the passengers would handle it.

I’m telling this to you because I want you to know….
The threat is real. I saw it with my own eyes….

FWIW, we think this was a dry run, and like the incident with the Imams a test to see how far they could push the envelope.

U.N. Deletes Documents, Won't Come Clean on Costs of Greening World Offices

The United Nations, which has been telling the world that it must cut back dramatically on its greenhouse gas emissions, has finally decided to practice what it preaches. But the world body isn't coming clean on the full costs of its self-greening effort with the member states who foot the bill.

After Fox News began asking questions about a pilot project that aims to start that process, the documentation concerning the greening effort abruptly disappeared from the U.N. Web site where it had been stored.

The greening effort is an issue with some urgency, since the U.N. — and the world — are on the eve of the much-touted Copenhagen meeting on greenhouse gas emissions, which begins Dec. 7 and ends Dec. 18. U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has been leading an unprecedented lobbying effort by the ostensibly neutral world organization to pressure member states into signing a drastic, multitrillion-dollar deal that would dramatically reshape the world economy.

The U.N. pilot project is called Greening as One, a response to a demand by Secretary General Ban that the organization lead from the front while it is espousing the hugely expensive and world-altering measures to combat "climate change."

It's a bid to make all U.N. offices around the world "climate neutral," (I have a cheaper idea to make all UN outposts "Climate Neutral" TEAR THEM DOWN!! - Ed.) and to turn U.N. outposts in the developing world into local proponents and users of "sustainable management practices" — including the buying and selling of local "sustainable" building goods and the setting of environmentally approved building and material standards.

The U.N. pilot project has another purpose: it involves a low-profile, grass-roots campaign to steer powerful government bureaucracies in the countries where the U.N. operates into adopting the same green agenda and thus make dramatic changes in the way local governments behave — with or without a global climate deal in Copenhagen.

The Greening as One document specifically tells U.N. offices in the pilot countries to identify "3-5 public organizations, which have the capacity and interest to act as champions on sustainable operations management in the country."

The climate neutrality effort, now in the early stages of a five-year roll-out, is being coordinated by the United Nations Environmental Program, the world organization's Nairobi-based environmental agency. It apparently was endorsed last month by a committee of a powerful U.N. internal body known as the United Nations Development Group (UNDG), which brings together 32 U.N. agencies, funds, programs and other institutions involved with economic development.

Documents concerning the green effort were stored on the UNDG website — at least until Fox News asked about them.

Greening as One builds on a U.N. program known as Delivering as One, which also began as a pilot project two years ago and aimed at consolidating various local branches of U.N. agencies around the world to improve their effectiveness, rationalize their costs and structures, and add to their clout.

In effect, Delivering as One aims to greatly concentrate the local profile and impact of the world organization, whose diverse funds, agencies and programs have long been administered separately, and often are located in separate offices and buildings in the same country.

According to U.N. documents obtained by Fox News, the five-year Greening pilot effort is supposed to cost a mere $3.8 million.

But that budget number includes only part of the work to be done in the pilot sample of three small countries — Albania, Cape Verde and Vietnam — plus initial efforts to do climate neutrality assessments in another ten developing nations in preparation for their own green U.N. centers.

Low-balling pilot project rollouts is a familiar exercise at the U.N., especially when it faces resistance from skeptical or cost-conscious member states who pay its bills. The pilots are often the thin edge of a spending wedge that widens rapidly as the pilot project enlarges beyond its original boundaries.

If the Greening as One roll-out is successful, it would eventually be expected to expand to at least 160 developing countries, if not the entire U.N. membership, raising the future costs drastically.

The Greening as One documents even illustrate exactly how that process worked with the Delivering as One initiative that was its precursor.

Delivering as One began as a pilot project in 2007 in eight countries, including the three involved in the launch of the Greening effort. But U.N. offices in other countries quietly joined in a parallel effort with the pilot project — also consolidating and rationalizing their operations in new, centralized facilities.

The upshot: an annex to the U.N.'s Greening proposal shows that only two years after the Delivering as One pilot project began, the number of countries involved had ballooned to 36 and the cost had soared past $204 million. That whopping total does not include the costs in 13 of the 36 cases, which were listed as "not available."

In the case of the U.N.'s pilot Greening as One effort, one sign that much bigger bills can be expected in the near future is that the $3.8 million original budget skips almost entirely over the costs of actually building or renovating new U.N. offices along the strict environmentalist lines that are the project's aim.

The building costs of engineering features such as solar cells and wind generators, improving insulation, rain water recycling, banning "unsustainably harvested" wood and giving preference to recycled materials will be presented in a later phase of the pilot project for each country.

The big exception is Vietnam, where a government-donated building and independently donated funding have pushed forward the agenda to the point where the U.N.'s new Green One U.N House, sheltering 16 organizations that formerly were in 10 locations across Hanoi, is supposed to open its doors in 2010 — as the rest of the greening initiative is still beginning. More than 50 percent of the cost of the new environmentally correct building came from countries such as Norway, Britain, Ireland, Australia and Finland, with the rest coming from the occupying U.N. agencies.

Rather than sustainable bricks and recycled mortar, almost all of the $3.8 million in the Greening as One budget appears to go to funding squads of analysts, advisors, consultants and coordinators to carry out assessments, set up benchmarks, devise strategies for raising money, advise procurement bureaucracies, share information and coordinate between U.N. organizations, and write reams of reports, listed in the Greening as One documents as the "outputs" of the pilot phase.

The document hints that a number of the coordinators and advisors may be U.N. staffers — including, perhaps, an International Project Coordinator who would cost $750,000 over five years — or may be other U.N. organizations, such as the United Nations Development Program, which would still be funded out of the pilot budget.

And over and above all that, UNEP, as the overall agency in charge, would add an administrative fee of 13 percent of all gross costs to the pilot budget — worth $442,000. The dollar value of the administrative fee would expand proportionately as the Greening initiative expanded.

Even though the actual construction costs for its Greening project come later, the U.N.'s Greening as One document tries hard to make the case that its radical environmental overhaul will not necessarily be all that more expensive than regular construction. As the report puts it, in a lengthy annex, "Green Buildings can be built with little or no capital cost premium" — and may indeed save enough money to justify the extra expense over less than a decade.

Today I am just complaining about all of the headlines.

We have a cop killer on the loose who was freed while serving a near 100 year sentence. Now you just don't get sentences like that for being a "misunderstood" person, that kind of sentence is handed down to violent individuals who have no business on the streets with you or me or our children. A few weeks ago we had a jihad attack on our home soil that killed 14 people (sorry, I count the unborn child that was also killed) that could have been easily prevented had we not become so PC as that we have to ignore facts that stare us in the face.

We have a President and his administration are on a desperate track to ruin our economy and they are succeeding in doing so. They are sending in some more troops to Afghanistan but not with the intention to win but to delay and stall until they can figure out a way to bring them home without being slaughtered in the pull out. We are not losing this war, yet, but there is no "win" with this administration. Their only thought is to get out. Iraq and Afghanistan are no longer Bush's wars, they are Obama's. Bush tried to fight them on the cheap and that is why we are here 8 years later, Obama is going to prove even worse.

And then we come to guy in the middle of Iraq and Afghanistan, Iran. Iran continues to play Obama like the fool he really is. Iran IS building nuclear weapons, for anyone to deny that is simply drinking too much koolaid. We keep depending on the IAEA to prevent this but they have a dismal record of accomplishment. The UN is trying to grab even more power with this Climate Change nonsense. Yes I know the Climate is changing, has been ever since there has been climate. Get over it. When the seas rise, you move away from the coast, etc.

And lastly, our twits in Congress do one thing right this year and vote to kill all funding to ACORN, an organization of very questionable character with a history of "loose accounting". And the Justice (pronounced "Just Us")Department decides that prior contracts with a criminal organization must be adhered to while prior contracts with Banks, Auto Companies, etc are not.

The Obama administration can legally pay the embattled community organizing group ACORN for services performed under contracts before Congress banned the government from providing money to the group, the Justice Department has declared.

David Barron, the acting assistant attorney general for the Office of Legal Counsel, wrote in a memo last month that the ban "should not be read as directing or authorizing HUD to breach a pre-existing binding contractual obligation to make payments to ACORN or its affiliates, subsidiaries or allied organizations where doing so would give rise to contractual liability."

Just a few considerations in addition to previous remarks about the explosion of the East Anglia Climategate e-mails in America. The reaction is growing exponentially there. Fox News, Barack Obama’s Nemesis, is now on the case, trampling all over Al Gore’s organic vegetable patch and breaking the White House windows. It has extracted some of the juiciest quotes from the e-mails and displayed them on-screen, with commentaries. Joe Public, coast-to-coast, now knows, thanks to the clowns at East Anglia’s CRU, just how royally he has been screwed.

Senator James Inhofe’s Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works has written to all the relevant US Government agencies, acquainting them with the nature of the e-mails. But the real car crash for Obama is on Capitol Hill where it is now confidently believed his Cap and Trade climate legislation is toast. It was always problematic; but with a growing awakening to the scale of the scientific imposture sweeping the world, as far as the Antipodes, the clever money is on Cap and Trade laws failing to pass, with many legislators sceptical and the mid-term elections looming ever closer.

At the more domestic level, the proposed ban on incandescent light bulbs, so supinely accepted in this servile state of Britain, is now provoking a huge backlash in America. US citizens do not like the government coming into their houses and putting their lights out. Voters may not understand the cut and thrust of climate debate at the technical level, but they know when the Man from Washington has crossed their threshold uninvited.

The term that Fox News is now applying to the Climategate e-mails is “game-changer”. Weekly Jobless Claims Drop to 466,000, Lowest Level in Over a Year!!

The number of newly laid-off workers filing claims for unemployment benefits fell more than expected last week to the lowest level in over a year.

WASHINGTON -- The number of newly laid-off workers filing claims for unemployment benefits fell more than expected last week to the lowest level in over a year. The concern is that the big improvement will be temporary as the weak economy continues to push unemployment higher.The Labor Department said Wednesday that the number of people filing first-time claims for jobless benefits fell by 35,000 to 466,000. (What Joy, Less than a half a million jobs lost - Ed.) That was the lowest level for initial claims since the week of Sept. 13, 2008, and was far better than the 500,000 that economists had expected.

The number of workers receiving benefits also fell sharply, dropping 190,000, to 5.42 million, the lowest level for continuing claims since February. (note: these 190,000 were the ones that Ran Out Of Benefits, because they have been out so long - Ed.)

Analysts cautioned against reading too much into the sharp drop in unemployment claims, noting that part of the improvement reflected large seasonal adjustment factors, which smooth out changes that normally occur at certain times of the year. Excluding seasonal adjustments, claims rose. That's normal at this time of year when a large number of construction workers face layoffs because of worsening weather conditions.

The unemployment rate hit a 26-year high of 10.2 percent in October and many economists believe the recovery will remain so sluggish that the jobless rate will keep rising, possibly topping 10.5 percent by the middle of next summer.

Federal Reserve policymakers worried at their November meeting that the unemployment rate could remain elevated for several years, according to minutes of the discussions released Tuesday.

New claims last week dropped below 500,000 for the first time since the first week in January. Weekly claims peaked at 674,000 in March and have generally been trending lower since then.

However, many economists believe that claims must drop to around 425,000 to signal actual growth in employment. (Please explain to me how 425 thousand New Job Loss Claims are "growth" - Ed.) Economists expect 145,000 payroll job cuts for November, a slight improvement from the net job loss of 190,000 last month.

Does anyone think we will be able to put jobs back on line with even close to the speed at which we lost and ARE losing them ? Even without this Health Care Monstrosity or the Cap and Tax (er Trade) Fiasco our recovery will be slow and painful, if we get these two abominations then the recovery will be non-existent yet with even much much more pain.

Recent reports indicate employers are continuing to lay off workers. Struggling Internet company AOL last week said it plans to cut up to 2,500 jobs, more than a third of its work force, once it is spun off from the media conglomerate Time Warner Inc. And Hartford, Conn.-based health insurer Aetna Inc. said it will cut 625 jobs, or nearly 2 percent of its staff, and will make similar job cuts in the first quarter of 2010 due to the lagging economy and the potential impact of health care reform. (<-- imagine that bit in an AP story!!)

The following is a statement released by Retired Lt. Col. Allen West:

This past Thursday 13 American Soldiers were killed and another 30 wounded at a horrific mass shooting at US Army installation, Ft Hood Texas. As I watched in horror and then anger I recalled my two years of final service in the Army as a Battalion Commander at Ft Hood, 2002-2004.
My wife and two daughters were stunned at the incident having lived on the post in family housing.
A military installation, whether it is Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine, or Coast Guard, is supposed to be a safe sanctuary for our Warriors and their families. It is intended to provide a home whereby our “Band of Brothers and Sisters” can find solace and bond beyond just the foxhole but as family units.

A military installation is supposed to be a place where our Warriors train for war, to serve and protect our Nation.

On Thursday, 5 November 2009 Ft Hood became a part of the battlefield in the war against Islamic totalitarianism and state sponsored terrorism.
There may be those who feel threatened by my words and would even recommend they not be uttered. To those individuals I say step aside because now is not the time for cowardice. Our Country has become so paralyzed by political correctness that we have allowed a vile and determined enemy to breach what should be the safest place in America, an Army post.

We have become so politically correct that our media is more concerned about the stress of the shooter, Major Nidal Malik Hasan. The misplaced benevolence intending to portray him as a victim is despicable. The fact that there are some who have now created an entire new classification called; “pre-virtual vicarious Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)” is unconscionable.

This is not a “man caused disaster”. It is what it is, an Islamic jihadist attack.
We have seen this before in 2003 when a SGT Hasan of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) threw hand grenades and opened fire into his Commanding Officer’s tent in Kuwait. We have seen the foiled attempt of Albanian Muslims who sought to attack Ft Dix, NJ. Recently we saw a young convert to Islam named Carlos Bledsoe travel to Yemen, receive terrorist training, and return to gun down two US Soldiers at a Little Rock, Arkansas Army recruiting station. We thwarted another Islamic terrorist plot in North Carolina which had US Marine Corps Base, Quantico as a target.

What have we done with all these prevalent trends? Nothing.
What we see are recalcitrant leaders who are refusing to confront the issue, Islamic terrorist infiltration into America, and possibly further into our Armed Services. Instead we have a multiculturalism and diversity syndrome on steroids.

Major Hasan should have never been transferred to Ft Hood, matter of fact he should have been Chaptered from the Army. His previous statements, poor evaluation reports, and the fact that the FBI had him under investigation for jihadist website posting should have been proof positive.
However, what we have is a typical liberal approach to find a victim, not the 13 and 30 Soldiers and Civilian, but rather the poor shooter. A shooter who we are told was a great American, who loved the Army and serving his Nation and the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) stating that his actions had nothing to do with religious belief.

We know that Major Hasan deliberately planned this episode; he did give away his possessions. He stood atop a table in the confined space of the Soldier Readiness Center shouting “Allahu Akhbar”, same chant as the 9-11 terrorists and those we fight against overseas in the Iraq and Afghanistan theaters of operation.

No one in leadership seems willing to sound the alarm for the American people; they are therefore complicit in any future attacks. Our Congress should suspend the insidious action to vote on a preposterous and unconstitutional healthcare bill and resolve the issue of “protecting the American people”.

The recent incidents in Dearborn Michigan, Boston Massachusetts, Dallas Texas, and Chicago Illinois should bear witness to the fact that we have an Islamic terrorism issue in America. And don’t have CAIR call me and try to issue a vanilla press statement; they are an illegitimate terrorist associated organization which should be disbanded.
We have Saudi Arabia funding close to 80% of the mosques in the United States, one right here in South Florida, Pompano Beach. Are we building churches and synagogues in Saudi Arabia? Are “Kaffirs” and “Infidels” allowed travel to Mecca?
So much for peaceful coexistence.

Saudi Arabia is sponsoring radical Imams who enter into our prisons and convert young men into a virulent Wahabbist ideology….one resulting in four individuals wanting to destroy synagogues in New York with plastic explosives. Thank God the explosives were dummy. They are sponsoring textbooks which present Islamic centric revisionist history in our schools.
We must recognize that there is an urgent need to separate the theo-political radical Islamic ideology out of our American society. We must begin to demand surveillance of suspected Imams and mosques that are spreading hate and preaching the overthrow of our Constitutional Republic……that speech is not protected under First Amendment, it is sedition and if done by an American treason.

There should not be some 30 Islamic terrorist training camps in America that has nothing to do with First Amendment, Freedom of Religion. The Saudis are not our friends and any American political figure who believes such is delusional.

When tolerance becomes a one way street it certainly leads to cultural suicide. We are on that street. Liberals cannot be trusted to defend our Republic, because their sympathies obviously lie with their perceived victim, Major Nidal Malik Hasan.
I make no apologies for these words, and anyone angered by them, please, go to Ft Hood and look into the eyes of the real victims. The tragedy at Ft Hood Texas did not have to happen. Consider now the feelings of those there and on every military installation in the world. Consider the feelings of the Warriors deployed into combat zones who now are concerned that their loved ones at home are in a combat zone.

Ft Hood suffered an Islamic jihadist attack, stop the denial, and realize a simple point.
The reality of your enemy must become your own.

Costs Of Malpractice Insurance Go Beyond Doctors' Premiums

Thomas Sowell on The Economics of Medical Care

A major source of the high cost of American medical care is malpractice insurance for doctors and hospitals.

The average cost of this insurance for individual doctors ranges from about $14,000 a year in California to nearly $40,000 a year in West Virginia. In particular specialties, such as obstetrics and neurosurgery, the cost of malpractice insurance can exceed $200,000 a year in some places.

These costs of course get passed on to patients, the government or whoever is paying for medical treatments. Even so, these are not the only financial costs created by medical malpractice lawsuits, nor are financial costs the only costs or necessarily the most important costs.

The threat of lawsuits can impose costs on obstetricians that raise their insurance premiums high enough to cause many of these doctors to stop delivering babies, or to stop delivering them in places where high jury awards on dubious evidence make it uneconomic to continue practicing obstetrics.

The net result of this can be that pregnant women in those places are at more risk than before because now there may be no doctor available in the vicinity to deliver their baby when the time comes.

Nor are obstetricians the only doctors who flee from places where it is easy to file lawsuits and win large damage awards. Pennsylvania, for example, lost one third of its surgeons between 1995 and 2002.

Ideally, juries would award malpractice damages only when the probability that malpractice had actually taken place was sufficiently clear, and the award only at a level sufficient to compensate real damages and deter such malpractice in the future.

In reality, an injured, deformed, or brain-damaged baby and an eloquent lawyer can lead to jury awards in the millions of dollars, even when it is by no means clear that the doctor who delivered that baby was in any way at fault.

A large study conducted jointly by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Academy of Pediatrics — released in 2003 and reviewed and approved by leading medical authorities in and out of government, as well as from as far away as Australia and New Zealand — concluded that "the vast majority of brain damage and cerebral palsy among these infants originates in factors largely or completely outside the control of delivery room personnel."

The health care bill recently unveiled by Speaker Nancy Pelosi is over 1,900 pages for a reason. It is much easier to dispense goodies to favored interest groups if they are surrounded by a lot of legislative legalese. For example, check out this juicy morsel to the trial lawyers (page 1431-1433 of the bill):

Section 2531, entitled “Medical Liability Alternatives,” establishes an incentive program for states to adopt and implement alternatives to medical liability litigation. [But]…… a state is not eligible for the incentive payments if that state puts a law on the books that limits attorneys’ fees or imposes caps on damages.

So, you can’t try to seek alternatives to lawsuits if you’ve actually done something to implement alternatives to lawsuits. Brilliant! The trial lawyers must be very happy today!

While there is debate over the details, it is clear that medical malpractive lawsuits have some impact on driving health care costs higher. There are likely a number of procedures that are done simply as a defense against future possible litigation. Recall this from the Washington Post:

“Lawmakers could save as much as $54 billion over the next decade by imposing an array of new limits on medical malpractice lawsuits, congressional budget analysts said today — a substantial sum that could help cover the cost of President Obama’s overhaul of the nation’s health system. New research shows that legal reforms would not only lower malpractice insurance premiums for medical providers, but would also spur providers to save money by ordering fewer tests and procedures aimed primarily at defending their decisions in court, Douglas Elmendorf, director of the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, wrote in a letter to Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah).”

Stay tuned. There are certainly many more terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad provisions in this massive bill.

The one reform that our Health Care System desperately needs, Torte Reform, is actually prevented from being implemented by this P.O.S. Bill.

Many years ago, at a certain academic institution, there was an experimental program that the faculty had to vote on as to whether or not it should be made permanent.

I rose at the faculty meeting to say that I knew practically nothing about whether the program was good or bad, and that the information that had been supplied to us was too vague for us to have any basis for voting, one way or the other. My suggestion was that we get more concrete information before having a vote.

The director of that program rose immediately and responded indignantly and sarcastically to what I had just said-- and the faculty gave him a standing ovation.

After the faculty meeting was over, I told a colleague that I was stunned and baffled by the faculty's fierce response to my simply saying that we needed more information before voting.

"Tom, you don't understand," he said. "Those people need to believe in that man. They have invested so much hope and trust in him that they cannot let you stir up any doubts."

Years later, and hundreds of miles away, I learned that my worst misgivings about that program did not begin to approach the reality, which included organized criminal activity.

The memory of that long-ago episode has come back more than once while observing both the actions of the Obama administration and the fierce reactions of its supporters to any questioning or criticism.

Almost never do these reactions include factual or logical arguments against the administration's critics. Instead, there is indignation, accusations of bad faith and even charges of racism.

Here too, it seems as if so many people have invested so much hope and trust in Barack Obama that it is intolerable that anyone should come along and stir up any doubts that could threaten their house of cards.

Among the most pathetic letters and e-mails I receive are those from people who ask why I don't write more "positively" about Obama or "give him the benefit of the doubt."

No one-- not even the President of the United States-- has an entitlement to a "positive" response to his actions. The entitlement mentality has eroded the once common belief that you earned things, including respect, instead of being given them.

As for the benefit of the doubt, no one-- especially not the President of the United States-- is entitled to that, when his actions can jeopardize the rights of 300 million Americans domestically and the security of the nation in an international jungle, where nuclear weapons may soon be in the hands of people with suicidal fanaticism. Will it take a mushroom cloud over an American city to make that clear? Was 9/11 not enough?

When a President of the United States has begun the process of dismantling America from within, and exposing us to dangerous enemies outside, the time is long past for being concerned about his public image. He has his own press agents for that.

Internationally, Barack Obama has made every mistake that was made by the Western democracies in the 1930s, mistakes that put Hitler in a position to start World War II-- and come dangerously close to winning it.

At the heart of those mistakes was trying to mollify your enemies by throwing your friends to the wolves. The Obama administration has already done that by reneging on this country's commitment to put a missile defense shield in Eastern Europe and by its lackadaisical foot-dragging on doing anything serious to stop Iran from getting nuclear weapons. That means, for all practical purposes, throwing Israel to the wolves as well.

Countries around the world that have to look out for their own national survival, above all, are not going to ignore how much Obama has downgraded the reliability of America's commitments.

Iraq, for example, knows that Iran is going to be next door forever while Americans may be gone in a few years. South Korea likewise knows that North Korea is permanently next door but who knows when the Obama administration will get a bright idea to pull out? Countries in South America know that Hugo Chavez is allying Venezuela with Iran. Dare they ally themselves with an unreliable U.S.A.? Or should they join our enemies to work against us?

This issue is too serious for squeamish silence

Honduras' Ousted Leader Set to Return to Power

TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras — Representatives of ousted President Manuel Zelaya and Honduras' interim government signed an agreement late Thursday that could open the way for Zelaya's reinstatement four months after he was ousted in a coup.

No text of the accord was immediately released, but it was greeted by all sides as a resolution to the long-running political dispute that has polarized the country and subjected it to international sanctions. (Mostly from OUR LEFTIST Government)

The agreement appears to soften Micheletti's previous stance that the Supreme Court — which has already rejected Zelaya's reinstatement — decide the issue.

Instead, the high court would make a recommendation, but the final decision would be left to a vote in Congress.

The agreement also creates a power-sharing government and requires both sides to recognize the Nov. 29 presidential elections. The international community has threatened to not recognize the vote if Zelaya is not reinstated, but on Thursday, Organization of American States Political Affairs Secretary Victor Rico told reporters that both the OAS and the United States "will accompany Honduras in the elections" as a result of the accord. (Now I suppose Obama will send thousands of ACORN volunteers to ensure the fairness of the Honduran elections.)

Zelaya also praised the agreement, though it is unclear whether he has a chance in a congressional vote.

"We are optimistic because Hondurans can reach agreements that are fulfilled," Zelaya told Radio Globo, an opposition station, adding, "This signifies my return to power in the coming days, and peace for Honduras."

The agreement, if it holds, could represent a much-needed foreign policy victory for the United States, which dispatched a senior team of diplomats to coax both sides back to the table.
"This is a great moment for Honduras, and its people should be proud that Hondurans have achieved this accord," said Tom Shannon, U.S. assistant secretary of state for Western Hemisphere Affairs, who arrived with the U.S. delegation Wednesday.

Rico said "they (the negotiators) are the heroes of Honduran democracy ... and this is a great moment for Honduras." The OAS had tried for months to bring the two sides together.

Micheletti called the pact a "significant concession" on his part. He also said that one of the provisions of the pact requires foreign powers to drop sanctions and reverse aid cutoffs imposed after the coup, and send observers to the upcoming elections.

The Supreme Court has already rejected Zelaya's return, saying he was replaced as president on June 28 because he violated the Constitution by pressing for a vote on potential constitutional reforms. Zelaya's opponents accused him of attempting to pass the reforms in order to end a ban on presidential term limits — something the leftist leader denies.

Zelaya, who is holed up at the Brazilian embassy in Tegucigalpa, the capital, has said Congress should make the decision on his reinstatement, even though he currently enjoys the support of only about a fifth of the legislators.

Earlier Thursday, police fired tear gas to disperse a march of about 1,000 Zelaya supporters as they neared the hotel where the talks were taking place.

This tidbit was left out of the Fox Report:

Zelaya was flown out of the country by soldiers on June 28, but slipped back in Sept. 21. It was unclear if he would be allowed to leave the Brazilian Embassy under the deal.

The interim government has vowed to arrest Zelaya if he leaves the diplomatic mission, and filed a complaint Thursday at the U.N.’s highest court accusing Brazil of meddling in Honduran affairs by giving Zelaya refuge. The International Court of Justice declined to comment on whether it would hear the case, and Brazil’s Foreign Ministry said the government was evaluating the complaint.

Brazil supports Zelaya’s fight to return to power and has not pressured him or his supporters to leave.

Just one year ago, would you have believed that an unelected government official, not even a Cabinet member confirmed by the Senate but simply one of the many "czars" appointed by the President, could arbitrarily cut the pay of executives in private businesses by 50 percent or 90 percent?

Did you think that another "czar" would be talking about restricting talk radio? That there would be plans afloat to subsidize newspapers-- that is, to create a situation where some newspapers' survival would depend on the government liking what they publish?

Did you imagine that anyone would even be talking about having a panel of so-called "experts" deciding who could and could not get life-saving medical treatments?

Scary as that is from a medical standpoint, it is also chilling from the standpoint of freedom. If you have a mother who needs a heart operation or a child with some dire medical condition, how free would you feel to speak out against an administration that has the power to make life and death decisions about your loved ones?

Does any of this sound like America?

How about a federal agency giving school children material to enlist them on the side of the president? Merely being assigned to sing his praises in class is apparently not enough.

How much of America would be left if the federal government continued on this path? President Obama has already floated the idea of a national police force, something we have done without for more than two centuries.

We already have local police forces all across the country and military forces for national defense, as well as the FBI for federal crimes and the National Guard for local emergencies. What would be the role of a national police force created by Barack Obama, with all its leaders appointed by him? It would seem more like the brown shirts of dictators than like anything American.

How far the President will go depends of course on how much resistance he meets. But the direction in which he is trying to go tells us more than all his rhetoric or media spin.

Barack Obama has not only said that he is out to "change the United States of America," the people he has been associated with for years have expressed in words and deeds their hostility to the values, the principles and the people of this country.

Jeremiah Wright said it with words: "God damn America!" Bill Ayers said it with bombs that he planted. Community activist goons have said it with their contempt for the rights of other people.

Among the people appointed as czars by President Obama have been people who have praised enemy dictators like Mao, who have seen the public schools as places to promote sexual practices contrary to the values of most Americans, to a captive audience of children.

Those who say that the Obama administration should have investigated those people more thoroughly before appointing them are missing the point completely. Why should we assume that Barack Obama didn't know what such people were like, when he has been associating with precisely these kinds of people for decades before he reached the White House?

Nothing is more consistent with his lifelong patterns than putting such people in government-- people who reject American values, resent Americans in general and successful Americans in particular, as well as resenting America's influence in the world.

Any miscalculation on his part would be in not thinking that others would discover what these stealth appointees were like. Had it not been for the Fox News Channel, these stealth appointees might have remained unexposed for what they are. Fox News is now high on the administration's enemies list.

Nothing so epitomizes President Obama's own contempt for American values and traditions like trying to ram two bills through Congress in his first year-- each bill more than a thousand pages long-- too fast for either of them to be read, much less discussed. That he succeeded only the first time says that some people are starting to wake up. Whether enough people will wake up in time to keep America from being dismantled, piece by piece, is another question-- and the biggest question for this generation.

As my readers know, I am a fan of economics and of history, as well as politics, a combination that forms some very interesting cycles to research, discuss and argue on. None is so interesting than the death of great nations, for here there is always the self destruction that comes before the final breakups and invasions. As they say: Rome did not fall to the barbarians, all they did was kick in the rotting gates.

It can be safely said, that the last time a great nation destroyed itself through its own hubris and economic folly was the early Soviet Union (though in the end the late Soviet Union still died by the economic hand). Now we get the opportunity to watch the Americans do the exact same thing to themselves. The most amazing thing of course, is that they are just repeating the failed mistakes of the past. One would expect their fellow travelers in suicide, the British, to have spoken up by now, but unfortunately for the British, their education system is now even more of a joke than that of the Americans.

While taking a small breather from mouthing the never ending propaganda of recovery, never mind that every real indicator is pointing to death and destruction, the American Marxists have noticed that the French and Germans are out of recession and that Russia and Italy are heading out at a good clip themselves. Of course these facts have been wrapped up into their mind boggling non stop chant of "recovery" and hope-change-zombification. What is ignored, of course, is that we and the other three great nations all cut our taxes, cut our spending, made life easy for small business...in other words: the exact opposite of the Anglo-Sphere.

That brings us to Cap and Trade. Never in the history of humanity has a more idiotic plan been put forward and sold with bigger lies. Energy is the key stone to any and every economy, be it man power, animal power, wood or coal or nuclear. How else does one power industry that makes human life better (unless of course its making the bombs that end that human life, but that's a different topic). Never in history, with the exception of the Japanese self imposed isolation in the 1600s, did a government actively force its people away from economic activity and industry.

Even the Soviets never created such idiocy. The great famine of the late 1920s was caused by quite the opposite, as the Soviets collectivized farms to force peasants off of their land and into the big new factories. Of course this had disastrous results. So one must ask, are the powers that be in Washington and London degenerates or satanically evil? Where is the opposition? Where are the Republicans in America and Tories in England?

The unfortunate truth here is: the Republicans and Tories are the Mensheviks to the Democrat and Labour Bolsheviks. In other words, they are the slightly less radical fellow travellers who are to stupid to realize that once their usefulness is done, they will go the very camps they will help send the true opposition to. A more deserving lot was rarely born. Of course half of the useful idiots in the Bolshevik groupings will go to those very same camps.

One express idiocy of Cap and Trade in America will be the approximately additional $.19 per liter of gasoline, which is a rather very large increase in taxation, however indirectly. Of course this will not only hit the American working serfs in the pocket at fuel up, but will hit them in everything they buy and do, as America has almost no real rail to even partially off set the cost of transporting goods.

But how will this work itself out? Very simple and the chain of events has been worked out often enough.

First, the serfs will start to scream at the cost of fueling up and the cost of all their goods. The government, ever anxious not to take responsibility, will single out the petroleum factories and oil companies for gauging the people. They will make demands for them to cut prices, which of course means working for a loss. When plants start to close down or move overseas, they will be called racketeers and saboteurs. Their facilities will be nationalized so that the government can show them how to do things properly. Shortages will follow as will show trials and that's as long as the USD holds up and foreign nations are still willing to sell oil and gasoline for other than gold, silver and other hard resources.

When food goes up, and it surely will, as the diesel the farmer uses goes up as well as his fertilizers, the government will scream that the farmers are hording, thus undermining the efforts of the enlightened. There will be confiscations of all feed crops while the farmers will get production quotas to meet or have their land nationalized again. Do not believe me? Look at the people running your governments and ask yourself: would they rather take some one's land or admit that they screwed up and ruined everything? After a point, only the corporate farms will remain, food by oligarch, just a like the factory farms. There will be plenty of dissidents to work them.

This will of course spread from industry to industry and within a rather short order, you will be living the new fractional dream, that is a fraction of what you have now. But on the bright side, for once, your children, working for government/oligarch run joint ventures, will be able to compete adequately with the Chinese, to feed the demands of Europe and Latin America. But that will take at least a generation or two first along with a cultural revolution or two.

While the Obama violinists’ supple wrists magically fiddle with their bows, the firefights continue in Afghanistan. General Stan McChrystal’s thorough assessment requesting 60,000-40,000 additional troops is now over seven weeks old and the Obama administration’s duplicity is becoming more evident by the day.

This amazing lack of dexterity is rather stunning given then candidate-Obama’s pledge that this was a war of necessity that we must win. Was that really just a headline grabber to convince moderate democrats that he would be strong on defense? It is increasingly appearing that way.

U.S. Forces Fire Onto Enemy Positions Near Pakistan Border

So let me be clear about the cost of delay:

First, while Obama has deliberated, troops he has previously described as “under resourced” are fighting and dying…and still under resourced.

Second, the Taliban are terrorizing civilians in those areas that lack significant or any coalition force presence and very courageous political leaders at the local governance level are left defenseless.

Third, we may miss the window of opportunity presented by the traditional Taliban operational pause in December and January.

Fourth, we exponentially complicate the deployment and reception of the 40,000 troops as ships have to be ordered, planes scheduled, operating bases built, and supplies delivered.

Fifth, had Obama acted promptly, he may have had additional troops to help with the election runoff agreed upon this week.

Sixth, with each day that Stan McChrystal’s request goes unanswered, the president gives the green light for his legions of political hacks and pudgy pundits, none of whom can hold McChrystal’s jock strap, to malign the general and minimize both his stature and his assessment. No biggie to McChrystal personally, but the enemy makes hay with this kind of thing in the terrorist recruiting world.

Make no mistake about it, General McChrystal states clearly in his assessment the criticality of time. He highlights that we must win this in the next 12 months. Obama has already burned through nearly two months of that time making sure he shows McChrystal who’s the boss. His indecision is costing time, lives and trust.

–Under resourced mission. According to the Washington Post’s “Faces of the Fallen”, 40 U.S. military personnel have been killed in Afghanistan since August 30 2009, the date stamped on McChrsytal’s plan. That’s nearly half of a rifle company wiped out. Multiply that by ten and you have the approximate count of wounded. What difference might rapid deployment troops have made for those 40 great Americans had Obama acted decisively and promptly? Sadly, we’ll never know…nor will their families.

–Securing the population and its leaders. This notion that the Obama administration is spreading about there being no partner for success achieved on the ground is patently false. I’ve seen first hand brave governors and provincial leaders who have conducted missions with the Afghan and coalition forces because they so strongly believe in the future of their country. The Obama administration’s shameless maligning of Karzai is duplicitous as it is a means to an end: to provide top cover for this inexcusable stall. What’s unconscionable is that while the Obama administration has been busy battering Karzai, the Taliban continues to wrought destruction on Afghan leaders, villages and families.

–The window of opportunity. The third cost of delay is that we miss this window of opportunity to disrupt the enemy while he is attempting to generate his own combat power and replenish his means of war. Thus, it will be another fighting season until that window opens again.

The Taliban operate in cycles in Afghanistan. They traditionally slow down some operations in December and January to refit and plan. Some of it is weather related and much of it is cyclical. The enemy uses a small force to hold what gains they have made while they conduct refit operations in Pakistan and in their lairs inside Afghanistan during the winter months. These operational pauses are windows of opportunity and the Obama administration’s delay has all but ensured that we will recognize this window by the sound of its slamming shut.

Contrarily, to insert large numbers of forces into these areas proximate to the Taliban hideouts and routes during the operational lull would pressure the enemy to do one of two things. Either they would have to forego their refit operations where they do things like rest, recover, resupply ammunition and the myriad other logistical and human functions an army requires, or they would have to collapse some of their holding action and cede terrain to the larger U.S. force.

It appears that we will instead be deploying these additional troops, if approved, into the teeth of the traditional Taliban build up in the spring that follows two cycles. First, in February through April, the enemy conducts massive logistical resupply, stakes its claims again on the poppy regions, and gets into defensive posture while also sizing up new ambush locations for roadside bombs. They also increase their intelligence collection on coalition forces, all of which is easier to do with less pressure on your forces. Second, the enemy rank and file then harvest the poppy, fighting only when necessary to defend their crops. Once the poppy resin is sold in May, the Taliban are flush with cash and June through October is their serious fighting time.

–Complicating the logistics. As Obama’s decision point slides to the right on the calendar, McChrystal’s 12-month mark, August 30th, remains fixed. The President had 18 months of campaigning and 10 months of his presidency to develop a plan. Meanwhile, the simple logistics of raising and sustaining an army become more complex with every day of delay inside the 12-month timeline. It took six months to deploy the six surge brigades into Iraq, a similar size force the U. S. commander in Afghanistan has requested. One from the 82nd Airborne Division was out of the gate in days, closing all of its forces within four weeks. If we do the math, Obama has burned two months of the 12-month window and now the best we can do is close the last of the 40,000 by month eight, giving General McChrystal four months to turn the tide in Afghanistan. That is hardly enough time for the young privates, sergeants, lieutenants and captains to build trust and relationships in their new areas of responsibility. Meanwhile we need to build new forward operating bases, deliver tons of supplies, and prepare the Afghan government and people for the increase in forces. No small order.

–The election runoff. President Obama made a big deal out of picking up the phone and calling Afghan President Hamid Karzai, congratulating him on agreeing to the runoff election. I’m hopeful that Karzai, known for speaking his mind, mentioned to Obama that those extra troops General McChrystal ordered a couple of months ago might have come in handy as a runoff is planned and executed. Visualize the most challenging terrain, with remote populations, on dirt roads, hundreds of miles from major road networks, with hundreds of enemy who want to disrupt the process. I’m not talking about Florida or Minnesota, naturally, but about Afghanistan and its inhabitants. We used triple the amount of combat power to secure the Iraqi elections in far less austere conditions. Obama’s delay promises that the runoff election will most likely be a repeat of the first. Here, again, he could have made a huge difference if he had acted promptly.

There are other second order effects from this delay, most unrecognizable at this moment. For example, who knows what kind of success we could have in Pakistan with our drone attacks if we put more pressure on the border with additional troops? With that success in the sanctuary, might we be able to disrupt another London bombing plot, Madrid attack, or even a 9-11?

While assuredly increased casualties, stranded political leaders, missed windows of opportunity, and complicated logistics are egregious enough, what we might miss in Pakistan is what should really bother us.

Napoleon is rumored to have said to one of his generals, “I can give you anything but time.”

Unfortunately, it appears that General McChrystal will not even have that.

We are pissing away the best opportunity we have had in 8 years of warfare to bring about an end. With the Pakistani's finally moving into those western provinces and clearing their house. All this president is doing now is providing a safe haven in Afghanistan for the Taliban to retreat to.

I have two stories from the Washington Times, and they just don't make any sense to me.

The first: EXCLUSIVE: Obama loosens missile technology controls to China

President Obama recently shifted authority for approving sales to China of missile and space technology from the White House to the Commerce Department -- a move critics say will loosen export controls and potentially benefit Chinese missile development.

As if the Clintons haven't done enough for Chinese missile development. Why on earth would we relax controls on missile tech? Do we really want to see Chinese missile technogy increase?

The president issued a little-noticed "presidential determination" Sept. 29 that delegated authority for determining whether missile and space exports should be approved for China to Commerce Secretary Gary Locke.

Commerce officials say the shift will not cause controls to be loosened in regards to the export of missile and space technology.

Eugene Cottilli, a spokesman for Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security, said under new policy the U.S. government will rigorously monitor all sensitive exports to China.

Oh! That makes me feel safe.

And now the second story that sort of ties in to the first: U.S. troop funds diverted to pet projects

Senators diverted $2.6 billion in funds in a defense spending bill to pet projects largely at the expense of accounts that pay for fuel, ammunition and training for U.S. troops, including those fighting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to an analysis.

Among the 778 such projects, known as earmarks, packed into the bill: $25 million for a new World War II museum at the University of New Orleans and $20 million to launch an educational institute named after the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, Massachusetts Democrat.

He is now a senior fellow at the Center for Defense Information, an independent research organization.

Sen. Tom Coburn, Oklahoma Republican, called the transfer of funds from Pentagon operations and maintenance "a disgrace."

"The Senate is putting favorable headlines back home above our men and women fighting on the front lines," he said in a statement.

Mr. Wheeler, who conducted the study, compared the Obama administration's requests for funds with the $636 billion spending bill that the Senate passed. He discovered that senators added $2.6 billion in pet projects while spending $4 billion less than the administration requested for fiscal 2010, which began Oct. 1.

Mr. Wheeler said that senators took most of the cash for the projects from the "operations and maintenance" or O&M accounts.
"These are the accounts that pay for troop training, repairs, spares and supplies for vehicles, weapons, ships and planes, food and fuel," Mr. Wheeler said.

Raiding those accounts to fund big-ticket projects the military does not want, but that benefit senators' home states or campaign contributors, amounts to "rancid gluttony," he said.

Washington is becoming a bigger threat to us than all of the crazies in the rest of the world.

Report: Russia to allow pre-emptive nukes!

MOSCOW (AP) - A top Russian security official says Moscow reserves the right to conduct pre-emptive nuclear strikes to safeguard the country against aggression on both a large and a local scale, according to a newspaper interview published Wednesday.

Presidential Security Council chief Nikolai Patrushev also singled out the U.S. and NATO, saying Moscow's Cold War foes still pose potential threats to Russia despite what he called a global trend toward local conflicts.

The interview appeared in the daily Izvestia during a visit by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, as U.S. and Russian negotiators try to hammer out a nuclear arms reduction treaty by December. It also came amid grumbling in Moscow over U.S. moves to modify plans for a missile shield near Russia's borders rather than ditch the idea outright.

Patrushev said a sweeping document on military policy including a passage on preventative nuclear force will be handed to President Dmitry Medvedev by the end of the year, according to Izvestia.

Officials are examining "a variety of possibilities for using nuclear force, depending on the situation and the intentions of the possible opponent," Patrushev was quoted as saying. "In situations critical to national security, options including a preventative nuclear strike on the aggressor are not excluded."

Now that Obama has killed the missle defense system for Eastern Europe, the Russians threaten a Nuke First Strike Option!!

How is that Nobel sitting now ?

The proposed doctrine would allow for the use of nuclear weapons "to repel an aggression with the use of conventional weapons not only in a large-scale but also in a regional and even local war," Patrushev was quoted as saying. He said a government analysis of the threat of conflict in the world showed "a shift from large-scale conflicts to local wars and armed conflicts."

"However, earlier military dangers and threats for our country have not lost significance," he was quoted as saying. "Activity on receiving new members into NATO is not ceasing. The military activity of the bloc is being stepped up. U.S. strategic forces are conducting intensive training on using strategic nuclear weapons."

Russian military analysts said the hawkish former domestic intelligence chief's remarks were mostly muscle-flexing for show, because what he revealed about the proposed new doctrine suggests it differs little from the current one.

One independent analyst, Alexander Golts, said current policy already allows for a nuclear strike to repel an aggression of any sort. Another, Pavel Felgenhauer, said that effectively allows for a pre-emptive strike because the type of aggression that would warrant such a strike is not clearly defined.

Russia' NATO envoy, Dmitry Rogozin, argued the proposed doctrine does not contradict arms reduction efforts. "We are moving toward a reduction in nuclear arsenals," he told Ekho Moskvy radio.

Still, Patrushev's focus on local conflicts could rattle Georgia, the small neighbor that Russia routed in a five-day conventional war with Russia last year.

Analysts also said his description of the proposed policy shows Russia's growing reliance on nuclear arms as its conventional arsenal decays and unpopular military reforms stall. Observers say the war with Georgia exposed frailties in Russia's military, adding urgency to planned reforms.

In a symptomatic setback, a scheduled test launch of the new Bulava intercontinental ballistic missile—which has failed in seven of its 11 test launches so far—was postponed, the state-run RIA Novosti news agency reported. The Bulava has been billed as the future of Russia's nuclear arsenal.

Folks, we are being led down a rosy path by our president. This man is as clueless in the international arena as he is about the national arena.

Well Obama Decided To Send More Troops, But....

Well the president has made a decision on sending more troops. General McCrystal had requested 40,000 more troops to keep us from losing the war in Afghanistan. What does Obama send, 13,000 troops. How nice, unfortunately the troops that he is sending to the war zone are not fire breathers but engineers, medical personal, intelligence experts and military police. More Barrack Queens or targets for the terrorists. This man does not want to win in Afghanistan, he just wants the war to drag on to sap our will, to take our minds off of his homeland agenda. Mark my words folks, we are going to see an increase in the deaths of our men and women over there as well as the deaths of many thousands of civilians at the hands of the taliban.

David Kaiser is a respected historian whose published works have covered a broad range of topics, from European Warfare to American League Baseball. Born in 1947, the son of a diplomat, Kaiser spent his childhood in three capital cities: Washington D.C. , Albany, New York , and Dakar, Senegal .. He attended Harvard University , graduating there in 1969 with a B.A. in history. He then spent several years more at Harvard, gaining a PhD in history, which he obtained in 1976. He served in the Army Reserve from 1970 to 1976.

He is a professor in the Strategy and Policy Department of the United States Naval War College. He has previously taught at Carnegie Mellon, Williams College and Harvard University . Kaiser's latest book, The Road to Dallas, about the Kennedy assassination, was just published by Harvard University Press.

History Unfolding

I am a student of history. Professionally, I have written 15 books on history that have been published in six languages, and I have studied history all my life. I have come to think there is something monumentally large afoot, and I do not believe it is simply a banking crisis, or a mortgage crisis, or a credit crisis. Yes these exist, but they are merely single facets on a very large gemstone that is only now coming into a sharper focus.

Something of historic proportions is happening. I can sense it because I know how it feels, smells, what it looks like, and how people react to it. Yes, a perfect storm may be brewing, but there is something happening within our country that has been evolving for about ten to fifteen years. The pace has dramatically quickened in the past two.

We demand and then codify into law the requirement that our banks make massive loans to people we know they can never pay back? Why?

We learned just days ago that the Federal Reserve, which has little or no real oversight by anyone, has "loaned" two trillion dollars (that is $2,000,000,000,000) over the past few months, but will not tell us to whom, or why, or disclose the terms.

That is our money. Yours and mine. And that is three times the $700 billion we all argued about so strenuously just this past September. Who has this money? Why do they have it? Why are the terms unavailable to us? Who asked for it? Who authorized it? I thought this was a government of "we the people," who loaned our powers to our elected leaders. Apparently not.

We have spent two or more decades intentionally de-industrializing our economy.. Why?

We have intentionally dumbed down our schools, ignored our history, and no longer teach our founding documents, why we are exceptional, and why we are worth preserving. Students by and large cannot write, think critically, read, or articulate. Parents are not revolting, teachers are not picketing, school boards continue to back mediocrity. Why?

We have now established the precedent of protesting every close election (violently in California over a proposition that is so controversial that it simply wants marriage to remain defined as between one man and one woman. Did you ever think such a thing possible just a decade ago?) We have corrupted our sacred political process by allowing unelected judges to write laws that radically change our way of life, and then mainstream Marxist groups like ACORN and others to turn our voting system into a banana republic. To what purpose?

Now our mortgage industry is collapsing, housing prices are in free fall, major industries are failing, our banking system is on the verge of collapse, social security is nearly bankrupt, as is Medicare and our entire government. Our education system is worse than a joke (I teach college and I know precisely what I am talking about) - the list is staggering in its length, breadth, and depth.. It is potentially1929 x ten...And we are at war with an enemy we cannot even name for fear of offending people of the same religion, who, in turn, cannot wait to slit the throats of your children if they have the opportunity to do so.

And finally, we have elected a man that no one really knows anything about, who has never run so much as a Dairy Queen, let alone a town as big as Wasilla , Alaska .. All of his associations and alliances are with real radicals in their chosen fields of employment, and everything we learn about him, drip by drip, is unsettling if not downright scary (Surely you have heard him speak about his idea to create and fund a mandatory civilian defense force stronger than our military for use inside our borders? No? Oh, of course. The media would never play that for you over and over and then demand he answer it. Sarah Palin's pregnant daughter and $150,000 wardrobe are more important.)

Mr. Obama's winning platform can be boiled down to one word: Change. Why?

I have never been so afraid for my country and for my children as I am now.

This man campaigned on bringing people together, something he has never, ever done in his professional life. In my assessment, Obama will divide us along philosophical lines, push us apart, and then try to realign the pieces into a new and different power structure. Change is indeed coming. And when it comes, you will never see the same nation again.

And that is only the beginning..

As a serious student of history, I thought I would never come to experience what the ordinary, moral German must have felt in the mid-1930s In those times, the "savior" was a former smooth-talking rabble-rouser from the streets, about whom the average German knew next to nothing. What they should have known was that he was associated with groups that shouted, shoved, and pushed around people with whom they disagreed; he edged his way onto the political stage through great oratory. Conservative "losers" read it right now.

And there were the promises. Economic times were tough, people were losing jobs, and he was a great speaker. And he smiled and frowned and waved a lot. And people, even newspapers, were afraid to speak out for fear that his "brown shirts" would bully and beat them into submission. Which they did - regularly. And then, he was duly elected to office, while a full-throttled economic crisis bloomed at hand - the Great Depression. Slowly, but surely he seized the controls of government power, person by person, department by department, bureaucracy by bureaucracy. The children of German citizens were at first, encouraged to join a Youth Movement in his name where they were taught exactly what to think. Later, they were required to do so. No Jews of course,

How did he get people on his side? He did it by promising jobs to the jobless, money to the money-less, and rewards for the military-industrial complex. He did it by indoctrinating the children, advocating gun control, health care for all, better wages, better jobs, and promising to re-instill pride once again in the country, across Europe , and across the world. He did it with a compliant media - did you know that? And he did this all in the name of justice and ... . .. change. And the people surely got what they voted for.

If you think I am exaggerating, look it up. It's all there in the history books.

So read your history books. Many people of conscience objected in 1933 and were shouted down, called names, laughed at, and ridiculed. When Winston Churchill pointed out the obvious in the late 1930s while seated in the House of Lords in England (he was not yet Prime Minister), he was booed into his seat and called a crazy troublemaker. He was right, though. And the world came to regret that he was not listened to.

Do not forget that Germany was the most educated, the most cultured country in Europe. It was full of music, art, museums, hospitals, laboratories, and universities. And yet, in less than six years (a shorter time span than just two terms of the U. S. presidency) it was rounding up its own citizens, killing others, abrogating its laws, turning children against parents, and neighbors against neighbors.. All with the best of intentions, of course. The road to Hell is paved with them.

As a practical thinker, one not overly prone to emotional decisions, I have a choice: I can either believe what the objective pieces of evidence tell me (even if they make me cringe with disgust); I can believe what history is shouting to me from across the chasm of seven decades; or I can hope I am wrong by closing my eyes, having another latte, and ignoring what is transpiring around me..

I choose to believe the evidence. No doubt some people will scoff at me, others laugh, or think I am foolish, naive, or both. To some degree, perhaps I am. But I have never been afraid to look people in the eye and tell them exactly what I believe-and why I believe it.

I pray I am wrong. I do not think I am. Perhaps the only hope is our vote in the next elections.

How Does Obama Think He Can Manage This.

Apparently President Obama's War Plan in Afghanistan is to "Contain" Al Queda and "Engage" the Taliban in a "Political solution", while demanding from Pakistan cooperation(?) in the effort.

Now it seems to me that Pakistani's are in a full blown war with both Al Queda and the Taliban in the western provinces (as well as in the major cities with suicide bombers). So this President, who has volumes of military experience, is dithering on whether to send more troops or not. We do not have enough troops there now to go on an offensive, so we are now pulling out of the forward bases to protect the cities. Instead of rushing more troops in to assist the Paki's from the other side of the border, we are waiting on a man that took 4 months to pick out a dog. This is the perfect time to provide the anvil for the Pakistani Hammer. The only reason I suggest a Paki Hammer is because they are not restrained by IDIOTIC RULES OF ENGAGEMENT.

Rangel: Too Powerful To Take Down

In the House today a resolution was brought forth by Republicans to have
Charlie Rangel (D) of New York removed from his chairmanship of the Ways and Means Committee. The resolution, offered by Texas Rep. John Carter (R), highlighted a litany of charges against the veteran Democrat, including tax evasion and filing inaccurate financial disclosure forms. The measure stemmed from a major ethics probe into Rangel's alleged failure to pay his taxes and disclose income on multiple properties -- as much as $1.3 million.

A representative from Rangel's office on Wednesday blasted the resolution as a "highly partisan effort."

"Let's look at this resolution for what it really is -- a highly partisan effort designed to undermine the important work in Congress on health care reform," the representative, who declined to be named, told FOX News.

"It's also an attempt to circumvent House rules, which provide for a comprehensive, bipartisan ethics committee process for reviewing matters such as these," (Ed: the House Ethics Committee has been "reviewing" this matter for over a year, and Mrs. Pelosi had promised action by January) the Rangel aide said. "The congressman himself initiated the request for the committee to review the issues and the members should let the process work as established by the rules of the House."

From the NY Slimes we get this tidbit:

"They would love to serenade Democrats with the “culture of corruption” refrain that Democrats so successfully employed against Republicans in gaining control of the House in 2006. But Republican efforts are being diluted by misconduct in their own ranks, including the case of Senator John Ensign of Nevada, who is drawing renewed scrutiny for his efforts to cover up an affair with the wife of one of his former top aides. " (somehow getting snatch on the side equals complete and blatant Income Tax Evasion)

The question that begs to be asked is, what will it take ? Is this man so powerful that he is now above the law ?

The following is an excerpt of the motion:

Whereas an editorial in The Washington Times newspaper on September 1, 2009 noted, “Charlie Rangel is one lucky guy. The Democratic congressman from Harlem, N.Y., just discovered that his net wealth is twice what he thought. That’s a pretty good day at the office for a public servant. Mr. Rangel also realized that he made tens of thousands of dollars more than he reported in many different years over the past decade. This is the most recent string in a series of financial bonanzas for Mr. Rangel, who last year admitted he had forgotten about $75,000 in rental income on his Caribbean resort property.”;

Whereas the same editorial also noted, “The congressman has failed to pay property taxes on two lots in New Jersey, according to the New York Post. That’s not all. In order to avoid taxes and get lower mortgage rates, Mr. Rangel simultaneously claimed three ‘primary residences’.”;

Whereas an editorial in the September 17, 2009 edition of the New Haven Register stated, “The ethics and tax complaints keep piling up against U.S. Rep. Charles B. Rangel, who as chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee controls writing of the nation’s tax laws. The New York Democrat may write those laws, but he apparently feels no obligation to obey them. The investigation appears to have a long way to go. The man who is in charge of writing the nation’s tax laws doesn’t pay his federal income or local property taxes. He has such a poor grasp of his own finances that he neglects to list half his assets on a disclosure form intended to keep members of Congress accountable and honest. We can already hear the defense of the next tax deadbeat called into court. If Charlie Rangel doesn’t have to pay his taxes, why should I?”;

I was born in one country, raised in another.

My father was born in another country.

I was not his only child.

He fathered several children with numerous women.

I became very close to my mother, as my father

showed no interest in me.

My mother died at an early age from cancer.

Later in life, questions arose over my real name.

My birth records were sketchy and no one was able to

produce a legitimate, reliable birth certificate.

I grew up practicing one faith but converted to Christianity,

as it was widely accepted in my country, but I practiced

non-traditional beliefs & didn't follow Christianity, except

in the public eye under scrutiny.

I worked and lived among lower-class people as a young

adult, disguising myself as someone who really cared about

them. That was before I decided it was time to get serious

about my life and I embarked on a new career.

I wrote a book about my struggles growing up.

It was clear to those who read my memoirs that I had

difficulties accepting that my father abandoned me as a child.

I became active in local politics in my 30's then with help

behind the scenes, I literally burst onto the scene as a candidate

for national office in my 40s. They said I had a golden tongue

and could talk anyone into anything.

I had a virtually non-existent resume, little work history,

and no experience in leading a single organization.

Yet I was a powerful speaker and citizens were drawn to me

as though I were a magnet and they were small roofing tacks.

I drew incredibly large crowds during my public appearances.

This bolstered my ego.

At first, my political campaign focused on my country's

foreign policy...... I was very critical of my country in the last

war and seized every opportunity to bash my country.

What launched my rise to national prominence were my views

on the country's economy. I pretended to have a really good

plan on how we could do better and every poor person would

be fed & housed for free.

I knew which group was responsible for getting us into this mess.

It was the free market, banks & corporations.

I decided to start making citizens hate them and if they were

envious of others who did well, the plan was clinched tight.

I called mine "A People's Campaign" and that sounded good to

all people.

I was the surprise candidate because I emerged from outside

the traditional path of politics & was able to gain widespread

popular support.

I knew that, if I merely offered the people "hope", together we

could "change" our country and the world.

So, I started to make my speeches sound like they were on

behalf of the downtrodden, poor, ignorant to include "persecuted

minorities".

My true views were not widely known & I kept them unknown,

until after I became my nation's leader.

I had to carefully guard reality, as anybody could have easily found

out what I really believed, if they had simply read my writings and

examined those people I associated with.

I'm glad they didn't. Then I became the most powerful man in

the world. And the world learned the truth.
